Today August 16,2024, the College of Agriculture faculty extensionists conducted monitoring and evaluation on " High Valued Spices Production and Organic Concoction Preparation" at brgy. Nueva Era, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur. The activity were led by Joylyn Pausanos, Emerson Jay Ibacarra, Berverly Galicia and Antonio Buhawe and participated by the farmers/beneficiaries of the barangay.

🪴Biopesticides prepared from Agroforestry Botanicals offer a Sustainable and Environmentally friendly approach to Pest Management🪴

These natural alternatives to chemical pesticides are derived from plants cultivated within agroforestry systems. By harnessing the insecticidal, fungicidal, or herbicidal properties of various botanical components, farmers can create effective pest control solutions while minimizing harm to beneficial organisms and the environment. This approach not only promotes biodiversity but also contributes to the economic viability of agroforestry practices by generating additional income from biopesticide production.

On July 4-5, 2024, the Department of Agroforestry's faculty experts held a training session on "Bio Pesticides Preparation and Formulation using Various Agroforestry Botanicals" in Barangay Nueva Era, Bunawan, ADS. The event was lead by Dr. Rodrigo Jr Bongolan Dean of the College of Agriculture, along with Sir Ronald Granada and Sir Jeslare Davis Vivas. The training was attended by identified farmers who cultivate high-value crops in the community.

On June 13-14, 2024, the Faculty Extensionist from the College of Agriculture held a training seminar on "High Valued Spices Production & Utilization with Organic Concoction Application" at the adopted barangay Nueva Era, Bunawan, Agusan del Sur. The aforementioned extension activity was facilitated by experts from the Horticulture and Bachelor in Agricultural Technology Department, namely Joylyn D. Pausanos, Beverly O. Galicia, Emerson Jay O. Ibacarra, and Antonio B. Buhawe, and was attended by various farmers and aspiring farmers from the barangay.

The training on high-valued spice production and organic concoction application can significantly benefit the community by stimulating the local economy through job creation and increased income, enhancing food security by producing nutritious spices, safeguarding the environment through sustainable farming, preserving cultural heritage by upholding traditional knowledge, and empowering community members, particularly women, through economic opportunities.

Congratulations to our Mr. & Ms. ASSCAT 2022 candidates for their amazing performance!
Maryjane Havana was stunning and confident and was awarded 4th runner-up.
Meanwhile, back to back Mr. ASSCAT win for CA with Neldwin G. Entoy, Mr. ASSCAT 2021 and John Rodel A. Balasabas, Mr. ASSCAT 2022.

Attention BS Entrepreneurship Students

Adding and dropping schedule will be on March 9-11, 2022. Few things to remember before adding/dropping:
1. Follow the steps as stated below.
2. You cannot add a course if the prerequisite course is still IP.
Prerequisite course example: You cannot take Track 2 if you are IP in Track 1.
3. So, you have to comply your IP grade before you can proceed with adding your subject.
