Its inception dates back to November 1975 when a group of civic-minded individuals, led by the esteemed late Second World War II hero General Alejo Santos, established the Bustos Vocational and Technical School. Initially commencing operations as an inconspicuous non-formal training institution, it expeditiously transitioned to its current location in Poblacion, Bustos, Bulacan, within a mere six
months of its establishment. The campus, with its land holdings, buildings, and equipment, was generously donated to BulSU by the Municipality of Bustos, Bulacan, through BCAT (Bulacan College of Arts and Trades) Board Resolution Number 400 on May 12, 1976. Over the course of its illustrious history, the Bustos Campus has witnessed transformative leadership under the guidance of various directors, each of whom has significantly influenced its developmental trajectory. Noteworthy figures such as Mr. Simplicio Reyes and Mr. Venancio Magdirila spearheaded the provision of secondary education and practical skill courses, while Mr. Dionisio played a pivotal role in elevating the campus to prominence as a hub for trade and industrial training. Subsequent directors, including Dr. Danilo S. Hilario, Mr. Edgardo Mateo, Dr. Isabelita Santiago, Professor Angelina D. Cinco, Dr. Ladislao D. Marcelo, and Prof. Cornelio O. Garcia introduced innovative plans and programs that aimed to meet the evolving educational needs of the new millennium. Dr. Alberto J. Valenzuela, assuming the directorship in 2010, successfully navigated the campus through the rigorous accreditation processes for several programs, further bolstering its academic standing. In 2017, Dr. Ciriaco M. Garcia assumed the position of dean, infusing his determination and leadership acumen to drive the Bustos Campus toward new heights of accomplishment. At present, the acquisition of an additional four thousand square meters of land has expanded its physical footprint to the present 1.5 hectares, enabling the campus to accommodate its ever-growing academic endeavors. Throughout its storied history, the campus has steadfastly pursued excellence in education. It has consistently expanded its program offerings to cater to the diverse needs of its student body, bolstered faculty development initiatives to enhance pedagogical efficacy, and invested in improving its infrastructure to provide a conducive environment for effective teaching and learning. With an enrollment of approximately five thousand students under the guidance of a dedicated faculty comprising one hundred and twenty-nine members, the campus stands as a beacon of educational enlightenment, bringing the youth EX UMBRA IN SOLEM, from the shadows of ignorance into the light of understanding.
