Father Saturnino Urios University announces a public forum on political reform in the Philippines, highlighting a timely discussion on one of the country’s long-standing governance concerns.

The forum, titled “Dapat Isa Lang: Passing a Genuine Anti-Political Dynasty Law through a People’s Initiative,” will feature Miguel Karlo L. Abadines as resource speaker.

Scheduled on 4 June 2026, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM via Zoom, the forum seeks to examine the problem of political dynasties and corruption in the Philippine political system, the need for a genuine Anti-Political Dynasty Law, and the role of citizen participation in advancing legislative reform through a People’s Initiative.

The event is open to students, faculty members, and the general public who are interested in democratic governance, electoral reform, and civic engagement. Participants may scan the QR code in the official poster to access the Zoom link and join the session.

On April 25, 2026, during the Parangal 2026, FSUU honored all our Urian board passers. Today, we are proud to present the words of Jerico Hallasgo. Once unsure of what to pursue, his experiences at FSUU helped shape him into a Registered Criminologist, one who has discovered himself, and with the love and support of those around him.

We thank the Dean of the Criminal Justice Education Program, Ms. Mia Melody D. Ramoso, and the Program Coordinator, Ms. Ann Margarette M. Diez, for guiding our CJEP students to success in the Criminologist Licensure Examinations (CLE). We also thank the dedicated CJEP faculty, and the parents, guardians, families, and friends for their constant support of our passers!

Admission Exams for the 1st Semester of S.Y. 2026-2027 for Incoming College Freshmen, Graduate Studies, and College of Law students are now ongoing.

On May 9, 2026, JO1 Paul G Cabading attended the internship graduation ceremony of Father Saturnino Urios University. During the activity, JO1 Cabading served as the guest speaker and delivered an inspiring message to the graduating interns, emphasizing the importance of discipline, dedication, professionalism, and commitment in their future careers. The activity also provided an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the institution and the agency while encouraging the students to become responsible and service-oriented individuals in their chosen fields.

BCPO OFFICIAL GRACES FSUU CRIMINOLOGY INTERNSHIP GRADUATION CEREMONY

Butuan City Police Office —— The Butuan City Police Office, through PLTCOL Wilson M. Corpuz, Deputy City Director for Operations, joined the Internship Graduation Ceremony of the Bachelor of Science in Criminology interns of the Father Saturnino Urios University Criminal Justice Education Program led by Mia Melody D. Ramoso, MSCJ, Program Dean, and Ann Margarette M. Diez, RCrim, CISDP, CCS, Program Coordinator, held on May 9, 2026, at the FSUU CBS Building, Butuan City.

PLTCOL Corpuz served as one of the guest speakers and emphasized the importance of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public service among future law enforcement officers.

The activity also highlighted the strong partnership between the academe and law enforcement agencies in shaping responsible and service-oriented future criminologists.

𝐅𝐒𝐔𝐔, 𝐒𝐏𝐔𝐒 𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐔𝐑𝐈 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

Two (2) higher education institutions (HEIs) in Caraga region successfully earned spots in the top 100 universities worldwide under various categories of the World University Rankings for Innovation (WURI) 2026.

Father Saturnino Urios University (FSUU) ranked #26 under the A8 Category: Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)-Based Responses to Past and Present Global Challenges. The university further gained the 72nd spot in the Curricular Innovation for Future-Readiness category.

Likewise, St. Paul University Surigao (SPUS) ranked #71 under Culture/Values category, and secured the 72nd seat in the Crisis Management category.

WURI is an international ranking body that assesses HEIs across the globe based on their real contributions to society, highlighting innovation, research, and engagement. Using 24 categories grouped based on the expanded three-dimensional framework: 1) For Whom to Innovate; 2) How to Innovate; and 3) What to Innovate, the ranking aims to recognize HEIs that excel in these innovative approaches, thereby inspiring advancements across the academic and societal landscape.

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Caraga extends its warmest congratulations to FSUU and SPUS for marking another history in the region’s higher education community.

This accomplishment reflects the growing global presence of Caraga’s HEIs and their unwavering commitment to innovation, sustainability, and societal transformation.
