The College of Engineering and Geosciences conducted a Stakeholders Forum held last October 11, 2022, at the CSU Library, Activity Area. Each program presented a curriculum review and proposed a Syllabi Revision along with the invited Program Advisory Panel (PAP) representing the different programs of CEGS, composed of alumni, professional organizations, stakeholders, parent associations, student organizations, government and private agencies, and industry.

Headed by the chairperson Mr. Nichole Anthony D. Pacle of the Department of Geology, he prepared a quick run-through of the proposed changes in the current curriculum and an interactive discussion with the panel members from the different sectors. This forum provided a great avenue to gain valuable feedback from a broad range of stakeholders for enriching the educational quality of the college.

The stakeholders who were present are as follows:

Government Agencies:
Mr. Romeo Dalodado- Chief Geologist, MGB Region XIII
Ms. Irish Jane Caraos- Geologist, DPWH Region XIII
Ms. Realynn Tadifa- Geologist, DPWH Region XIII

Parents Association
Dr. Michelle Japitana
Dr. Isidro Biol Jr.
Mr. Andres Arizala
Mrs. Consorcia Solania

Student Association:
Fevielaine Arizala- Secretary, AGUS
Argelyn Matulac- Program Representative, CEGS LSG

Alongside the discussion, an interactive workshop on "Integration of Gender and Development in the Formulation of Curriculum" by Dr. Lilia Boyles, PhD from the Office of the Gender and Development was conducted. The topic "Curricular Program Revision and Rationalization: Our's Observation, Experience, and Learnings" was also delivered by Ms. Merinessa Gonzaga from the Office of the University Registrar.

We once again extend our acknowledgment to the Program Advisory Panels of the Department of Geology for taking the time from their busy schedules to attend this purposive event!

"Gamay lang bitaw na, it won't hurt that much" if this is the mindset of every student, what kind of future awaits us?

It takes 1000 years for a little piece of plastic to degrade, by that time your "Gamay lang" would definitely create a continent of trash.

CSUans, we are no longer ignorant for what will happen to our environment because of our irresponsibility, please be guided that the CSU's core values are Competence, Service, and Uprightness, but it is not upright to leave your trash behind. CLAYGO (Clean As You Go) is a must anytime and anywhere.

Remember that our actions today, are the consequences of tomorrow.

Free WIFI Connectivity for CSUans...

The University Student Government is compelled to lobby everyone's concerns as the highest student governing body. It was brought to our attention that students struggle to adjust to the blended learning modality. This is brought about by having a mix of online and face-to-face classes. To counter this, the USG in partnership with CSU ICT Center has installed wireless access points that can cater to at most 1000 students for their academic needs.

EXISTING:
• S&T Building

INCOMING:
• Library
• Bookshop
• Hinang Hall
• Kinaadman Hall
• Villares Building

In line with this, we would like to hear your voices on where we should install the next wireless access point. Your responses to this survey below would help us significantly.

Thank you, and may you continue to be part of the betterment of CSU.

We did it Ka-Batos!

The newly established organization of the department, also known as AGUS (Alliance of Geology Undergraduate Students and Enthusiasts), had received the 'Most Interactive Booth' during the CEGS Science Fair held at Hinang Hall last September 21-23 and 28, 2022.

The awarding was held at HERO Learning Center Auditorium on October 5, 2022, during the CEGS Local Student Government General Assembly. The award was received by the organization's president, Ms. Yannie S. Accompañado together with the organization's adviser, Mr. Nichole Anthony D. Pacle. The department proudly congratulates the student-officers, and all of the AGUS members for their great efforts and sacrifices for the said exhibit.
