Dogs have a way of becoming part of our everyday lives. Whether theyโ€™re waiting by the door, following us from room to room, or quietly keeping us company. International Dog Day gives us a chance to appreciate these little routines and the bond we build with them over time.

Itโ€™s also a reminder that loving a dog comes with responsibility. Proper food, regular care, a safe environment, and patience all matter just as much as the affection we give them.

Today, we celebrate our dogs by giving them the care and appreciation they deserve.

Today, we recognize the blind dogs who continue to enjoy life in their own way. Being blind doesnโ€™t stop a dog from playing, exploring, learning, or forming strong bonds with the people around them.

This day is also a reminder that animals with disabilities still deserve patience, care, and a chance to be loved and included. So, if you meet a blind dog, rememberโ€”๐š ๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ ๐จ๐ž๐ฌ ๐š ๐ฅ๐จ๐ง๐  ๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ.

Today, we commemorate Ninoy Aquino Day in remembrance of Benigno โ€œNinoyโ€ Aquino Jr. and the events surrounding his return to the Philippines and assassination in 1983.

His story remains an important part of our countryโ€™s history, reflecting a period that continues to shape how Filipinos understand our nation today. Remembering him gives us an opportunity to honor his role in that chapter of our history while also looking back on the events, challenges, and circumstances that shaped the Philippines during his time.

Did you know honey bees have their own way of giving directions? Through the waggle dance, a scout bee can communicate the distance and direction of a newly discovered flower patch to other members of the colony.

From one bee finding a flower patch to the rest of the colony following its directions, honey bees rely on communication to make the most of the resources around them. Their waggle dance is a small but fascinating part of how an entire colony works together.

Today is a good time to take a closer look at these tiny pollinators and the surprisingly complex way they communicate, cooperate, and find their way through the world.

Small, persistent, and usually unwelcome at 2 a.m., Mosquitoes are easy to dismiss as nothing more than a nuisance. But these tiny insects are also part of ecosystems, serving as food for fish, birds, bats, and other animals.

As annoying as they may be, mosquitoes have a role in nature that goes beyond the bite. And interestingly, ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฌ๐ช๐ฎ๐ข๐ญ๐จ๐ž๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐ž๐ž๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐›๐ฅ๐จ๐จ๐. The ones that do are female mosquitoes, which need the nutrients from blood to help develop their eggs.

So, before we declare war on every tiny buzz we hear, maybe thereโ€™s a little more to mosquitoes than we give them credit for.

What if the forests had their own gardeners? Orangutans help shape the ecosystems around them by eating a wide variety of fruits and dispersing seeds throughout the forest. In doing so, they contribute to forest regeneration and help maintain plant diversity.

The name โ€œorangutanโ€ comes from Indonesian and Malay words meaning โ€œperson of the forest.โ€ Fittingly, these remarkable great apes share many similarities with humans, including complex social behavior, learning abilities, and sophisticated tool use.

Every forest needs its gardeners, and orangutans play that role in ways we may not always notice. By protecting them, we also help preserve the forests and the life they support.
