This means that all classes shall shift to FLEXIBLE TEACHING AND LEARNING MODALITIES, with faculty members ensuring its effective implementation.

The Memorandum adheres to the official announcement of the City Government of Butuan, declaring the same suspension due to the persistently high heat index experienced throughout the region and parts of the Philippines.

With the heat index at a dangerous level (44°C), the university prioritizes the health and safety of its Golden Paddlers and community. Please stay cool and hydrated to avoid heat-related illnesses. Keep safe, everyone!

𝐀 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐄𝐱𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞

The College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS) concluded the second quarter with strong performance across its extension programs. Against a target of 𝗼𝗻𝗲 (𝟭) 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 active partnership, the college established 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 (𝟱) 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 with key government agencies and organizations, significantly expanding its collaborative network for community development.

CCIS also exceeded its target of one extension program by implementing six extension initiatives across its BSCS, BSIS, and BSIT programs. These included Project INSIGHT, Project SIKAT, and other community-based initiatives that delivered technology-driven interventions to partner communities.

The quality of these extension services was reflected in participant feedback, 𝟵𝟲% 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 the trainings and advisory services as satisfactory or higher, surpassing the college's target of 𝟴𝟬%.

Faculty participation likewise remained high, with an 𝟴𝟭.𝟴𝟮% 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲, exceeding the target of 𝟳𝟱% and demonstrating strong faculty commitment to extension activities.

While the college conducted 𝟭𝟮𝟱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 against a target of 𝟮𝟱𝟬, these activities provided valuable learning opportunities in Canva for Visual Materials and AI-Assisted Productivity, Computer Fundamentals and Document Productivity, and Data and Presentation Productivity using Excel and PowerPoint.

Overall, the second quarter highlights CCIS's continued commitment to delivering relevant extension programs, strengthening institutional partnerships, and expanding technology-based community engagement.

The College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS) successfully convened its Program Advisory Board (PAB) Coordination Meeting on July 13, 2026, at the Hiraya Building, Caraga State University. The meeting gathered industry leaders, government partners, alumni, student representatives, faculty members, and college administrators to reinforce the College's commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, and industry-responsive computing education.

A key highlight of the meeting was the presentation of the College's Midyear Accomplishment Report, featuring significant achievements and progress during the first half of the year. The College also provided updates on the proposed Bachelor of Science in Data Science (BSDS) and Bachelor of Science in Entertainment and Multimedia Computing (BSEMC) programs, the status of its Philippine Computing and Information Accreditation Board (PICAB) accreditation initiatives, and the CCIS Research, Development, Innovation, and Extension (RDIE) Agenda. These discussions provided the Program Advisory Board with an opportunity to offer strategic recommendations that will further strengthen the College's academic programs, research initiatives, and industry partnerships.

Present during the meeting were Ms. Christina Hemady R. Acillas, President of the Butuan City Chamber of Commerce Foundation, Inc. (BCCFI); Dr. Jackelou S. Mapa, President of PSITE–Caraga Region; the CCIS Student Representatives—Ms. Charriel Mae Ayuban (BSIT), Ms. Meryanne June Cloma (BSIS), and Mr. Birchard Theo Tener (BSCS); together with CCIS faculty members and staff. Joining virtually were Director Mario P. Cuñado, Regional Director of DICT–Caraga; representatives from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI); CCIS alumni; and other stakeholders, demonstrating their continued support for the College's pursuit of academic excellence and industry relevance.

The College expresses its sincere appreciation to all Program Advisory Board members and stakeholders for their invaluable insights, continued partnership, and unwavering support. Their guidance remains instrumental in ensuring that CCIS continues to deliver innovative, relevant, and quality computing education while producing competent, ethical, and globally competitive graduates.

CCIS Conducts Strategic Midyear Planning and Performance Review Assessment 2026 |

The College of Computing and Information Sciences (CCIS) successfully convened its College Midyear Planning and Performance Review and Assessment from July 8–10, 2026, at the Amontay Beach Resort in Nasipit, Agusan del Norte.

The three-day intensive collaborative event brought together the college’s administrative leadership, department chairs, and faculty. The primary objective was to critically evaluate the college's current performance, align its operational milestones with institutional benchmarks, and chart a definitive roadmap for the remainder of the academic year.
