The MSU-Zamboanga Sibugay (formerly MSU-Buug) Campus Academic Promotion Panel (CAPP) convened on April 21, 2026 to discuss recommendations, observations, and comments on the MSU System Integrated Scheme for Ranking and Promotion (ISRP).

The meeting served as a preparatory dialogue for the upcoming ISRP Committee Meeting on April 28–29, ensuring that campus inputs are well consolidated and aligned with institutional standards and expectations.

Through this initiative, the University continues to uphold fairness, transparency, and academic excellence in faculty ranking and promotion processes.

Meaningful conversations and forward-looking plans marked the 14th Academic Planning Committee Meeting held today, April 20, 2026, at the Office of the Chancellor Conference Hall.

Discussions centered on several important matters, including austerity measures for energy conservation, the conversion or retitling of faculty rank, the promotion and reclassification of some faculty members, the proposed policy and guidelines on the accreditation of private boarding houses, and preparations for the upcoming commencement exercises.

The meeting highlighted the university’s continuing commitment to efficient governance, faculty development, student welfare, and readiness for key academic events.

MSU-ZS | Strengthening Quality Assurance for PSV 2026

In collaboration with the Quality Assurance Office of Mindanao State University–Zamboanga Sibugay, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs successfully conducted a Mock Preliminary Survey Visit (PSV) on April 10–11, 2026.

The activity was guided by our esteemed mentor, Dir. Al-kwarizhme S. Abdusalam, MPA, Director for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Mindanao State University-Tawi-Tawi College of Technology and Oceanography, whose expertise provided valuable insights in refining our evidence and strengthening compliance across all areas.

This initiative was made possible through the dedicated efforts of our QA Focal Person, Mr. Franklin Marc G. Siarza, and the collective commitment of our academic community.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our ever-supportive Chancellor, Prof. Sheila G. Magolama, PhD, along with the Vice Chancellors, campus officials, heads of offices, college deans, department chairpersons, faculty members, staff, and SSC officers for their active participation and unwavering support.

The Mindanao State University–Zamboanga Sibugay (formerly MSU-Buug) successfully conducted the College Entrance Test (CET) 2026 on March 29, 2026, marking another significant step in welcoming future Iskolar ng Bayan for Academic Year 2026–2027.

With a total of 455 registered examinees, the examination was smoothly administered across 15 designated testing rooms, reflecting the University’s commitment to organized, fair, and efficient admissions processes.

This undertaking was made possible through the dedicated efforts of our Admission Officer, Miss Hafida Nadzma T. Mla, and the Test Center Examiners, Assoc. Prof. Josephine S. Duyaguit and Ms. Jecelle Lou F. Alajas, alongside our committed team of proctors who ensured the integrity, order, and discipline of the examination process.

Our sincere appreciation to all proctors for your time, diligence, and professionalism in facilitating today’s examination. Your role is vital in ensuring a credible and successful CET implementation.
