Ate Gina Gindrama kalang ni P. Diddy😔❤️🩹
In 2017, Gina Lopez was deeply hurt by her removal as Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), not for herself, but because she was worried about what her successor might allow to happen: the unchecked operations of abusive mining companies and the neglect of protecting our forests.
As a presidential appointee, she could have used the powers of her office just as others did before her. However, when she faced the Commission on Appointments, instead of recognizing and appreciating her accomplishments, the senators and congressmen used them as grounds to deny her confirmation. Mining conglomerates have billions of dollars in investments and can easily bribe any corrupt politician. Moreover, many of those in power at that time had their own mining companies, interests, or stocks. That’s precisely why they were there, to protect their businesses.
“The time will come when we will be held accountable for destroying our natural resources. The time will come when we will feel the wrath of nature’s revenge because of our neglect and disrespect for the mountains and the trees. These mines and the cutting down of our forests will be the very things that kill the Filipino people. Let us not allow this to happen!”
