The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) proudly celebrates the outstanding achievement of one of its own โ ๐๐ซ. ๐๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฏ๐ ๐๐จ๐ก๐ง ๐๐ ๐จ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ, a faculty member of the ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ก๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ฒ, whose recent research accomplishments have brought pride and prestige to the university.

The study utilizes computer-aided methods to evaluate the cholesterol-lowering potential of phytochemicals from Citrus bergamia, identifying eight compounds with stronger binding affinities to HMG-CoA reductase than the commonly used drug atorvastatin. The publication has also received its ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง from a Scopus-indexed journalโa significant milestone for any researcher, especially one just beginning their journey.
Further showcasing his collaborative spirit and growing academic influence, Mr. Agosto also co-authored his ๐๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฌ-๐ข๐ง๐๐๐ฑ๐๐ ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ก ๐ฉ๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ in partnership with international researchers. These findings highlight its potential as a natural source for developing treatments targeting oxidative stress, Alzheimerโs disease, and inflammation. This publication, too, has already received its first citation from a Scopus-indexed source.
