Two young swimmers from Liceo de Cagayan University are set to represent Cagayan de Oro at the 2026 Philippine Aquatics, Inc. (PAI) National Championships in Tarlac this October.

Jewel Zelene M. Ferrera and Neil Christian Salvador earned national berths after strong performances in regional qualifying meets in Dapitan and Iligan. They will compete at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas, Tarlac, on Oct. 2–4.

𝐋𝐈𝐂𝐄𝐎 𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐋𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐨 𝐔 𝐒𝐰𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐏𝐀𝐈 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬

Liceo de Cagayan University Swimming Titans Jewel Zelene M. Ferrera and Neil Christian Salvador delivered strong performances in the Philippine Aquatics, Inc. (PAI) Regional Qualifiers, securing qualification for the 2026 PAI National Events.

Ferrera competed in two regional qualifying legs. During PAI Leg 1, held on July 11–12, 2026, in Dapitan City, she participated in the 50m Backstroke, 100m Individual Medley, 800m Freestyle, 4×50m Medley Relay, and 4×25m Freestyle Relay.

She continued her campaign in PAI Leg 2, held on August 8–9, 2026, in Iligan City, competing in the 400m Freestyle, 100m Breaststroke, 4×50m Freestyle Relay, and 4×25m Medley Relay.

Salvador likewise represented Liceo U in PAI Leg 2 in Iligan City, where he competed in the 200m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly, 100m Backstroke, 400m Freestyle, 200m Backstroke, and 100m Breaststroke.

Through their performances in the regional qualifiers, Ferrera and Salvador secured qualification for the 2026 PAI National Events, scheduled on October 2–4, 2026, at the New Clark City Aquatics Center in Capas, Tarlac.

The University congratulates Ferrera and Salvador on this achievement and wishes them the very best as they represent the University on the national stage.

A celebration of unity, cooperation, and cultural appreciation brought the Liceo community together in recognition of the shared values and rich diversity of the ASEAN region.

The College of Arts and Sciences held its ASEAN 2026 celebration on August 11, 2026, at the Liceo Civic Center, bringing students and members of the University community together for an afternoon of cultural appreciation and camaraderie.

The activity provided an avenue to celebrate the traditions, identities, and cultural heritage of ASEAN member states while fostering greater awareness of regional unity and cooperation within the University community.
