XU Development Communication Society The official page of the Development Communication Society of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan

The Development Communication Society of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan is the official co-curricular organization for students under the guidance of the Department of Development Communication of the College of Agriculture. MISSION
The Development Communication Society provides activities inclined in and related to the Development Communication Program under the College of Agriculture of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan to utilize the members’ talents, hone their skills, develop their capabilities, fulfill their passions, encourage their commitment towards local, national, or international development, and break through the limits of their potentials. Such activities specifically include:
⦿ Photo exhibits
⦿ Film festivals
⦿ Variety shows
⦿ Outreach programs
⦿ Community development
⦿ Events as required or encouraged by all courses under the program

In addition, the DevCom Soc initiates activities that promote effective socialization and team camaraderie among its members in all year levels. Such activities annually include:
⦿ The general assembly
⦿ Community Building
⦿ DC Night

Subsequently, the DevCom Soc allows and generates more activities to be conducted or headed by any of the members or faculty that are geared towards making the organization’s vision possible. VISION
The Development Communication Society will become the leading development-oriented student-led communication organization by year 2020.

As we remember the individuals who resisted oppression and stood firm in defending the rights and freedoms of the Filipino people, may we carry forward the lessons of the past. Under the theme “Sands of Time,” the General Assembly and Organizational Trip (GAOT) 2026 officially commenced on August 24 at Xavier Ateneo, bringing together student organizations for a three-day celebration of talent, creativity, and school spirit.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | GAOT 2026 Wraps Up Festivities

The three-day festivities of the General Assembly and Organizational Trip (GAOT) 2026 concluded on August 26 at the University Gymnasium bringing together students through fashion, music, organizational exhibits and everything in between under the theme “Sands of Time.”

The second day was highlighted by the “Sands of Time” Fashion Showcase at the XU Soccer Field, where Vonn Maglangit from the School of Business and Management Student Council (SBMSC) was crowned as the Grand Winner. This was followed by the Battle of the Bands at the XU Covered Court where VHS from the College of Engineering (COE) was crowned as the winner.

The last day started with the organizational parade and the Assembly of Extra-Curricular Organization (AECO) Awards and then moved on to the Cheer Chant Competition, with the School of Education (SOE) grabbing the third win in a row. The evening concluded with the Emblem of Excellency pageant wherein James Alexander Mancer and Curtney So from the College of Nursing (CON) grabbed the title as this year’s winner.

As the event came to a close, GAOT 2026 highlighted the enduring legacy of Xavier University’s student organizations.
