SINGLE ROPE TECHNIQUE (SRT) TRAINING 2025

Conquering new heights!

On the 30 of November, the Xavier University - Ateneo Mountaineering Society (XU-AMS) successfully conducted a Single Rope Technique (SRT) Training, equipping participants with essential technical skills necessary for safe and responsible mountaineering.

The activity focused on the fundamentals of rope systems, rappelling, ascending, knot-tying, and proper safety procedures, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience in managing vertical terrain and emergency rope applications. Guided by experienced facilitators and skilled rescuers, the training emphasized the importance of precision, teamwork, and composure in high-angle environments. 🧗‍♂️

More than just a technical activity, this training reflects XU-AMS’ continued commitment to preparedness, discipline, and responsible outdoor leadership. As mountaineers, mastering these techniques strengthens not only our capability in the field but also the trust we place in one another as a team.

Special thanks to the Bureau of Fire Protection - Special Rescue Force R-10 and all facilitators, members, and alumni who dedicated their time and expertise in making this activity possible.

Together, we continue to rise to greater heights safely and responsibly.

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) SEMINAR AND TRAINING 2025

On the 19th of November, the Xavier University - Ateneo Mountaineering Society (XU-AMS) successfully conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) Seminar and Training, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to safety, preparedness, and responsible mountaineering.

The activity served as an essential learning experience for participants, equipping them with practical knowledge and life-saving skills that can be applied both on and off the trail. Through guided discussions and hands-on demonstrations led by trained facilitators, attendees learned CPR, bandaging techniques, patient assessment, and other basic emergency response protocols, emphasizing the importance of quick and effective action during critical situations. 🚑

As mountaineers, preparedness is just as important as adventure. Beyond appreciating nature and conquering trails, XU-AMS continues to uphold its responsibility of ensuring that its members are capable of responding to emergencies and protecting lives in any environment.

This seminar and training stands as another step toward building safer, more responsible, and more capable outdoor leaders.
