RCL, UCL First-year Students Joined Simultaneous NSTP Clean-Up Drive
Over 2,500 first-year students from PHINMA Rizal College of Laguna and PHINMA Union College of Laguna took to the streets of multiple barangays in Sta. Cruz and Calamba City last April 20 for a simultaneous clean-up drive under the National Service Training Program – Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS).
The operation covered Barangays Poblacion 3, Poblacion 4, San Pablo Sir, Pagsawitan, and Patimbao in the Municipality of Sta. Cruz, as well as Barangays Parian, Lawa, Lamesa, Bucal, and Canlubang in Calamba City.
“This clean-up drive is not only about helping the community but also about showing that students remain deeply in touch with the communities they belong to,” Dean Mich said. “We strategically selected barangays where our students live. We want to demonstrate that as they grow in college, we need to anchor ourselves in a basic human principle — be of service to our immediate community.”
Collected waste was turned over to respective barangay waste collection teams for proper disposal.
