The Radiologic Technology Department conducted the final day of its Curriculum-Based Student Enrichment Seminar on April 17, 2026, equipping first- to fourth-year students with enhanced knowledge and review discussions on Radiation Biology and Film Screen Image Acquisition, Processing, and Image Analysis essential to their future profession.
Guest speaker Mr. Meynard Y. Castro, RRT, MSRT, delivered a discussion on Radiation Biology, emphasizing the significance of understanding the biological effects and dose-response relationship of radiation in the medical field. The seminar strengthened the studentsโ awareness of radiation safety, patient care, and the responsibilities carried by future radiologic technologists in clinical practice.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ysmael O. Alip, RRT, MMHoA, discussed Film Screen Image Acquisition, Processing, and Image Analysis, highlighting the proper step-by-step procedures performed in the operating and dark room areas of Radiologic Technology. His discussion provided students with a clearer understanding of image production, film handling, and the importance of accuracy and quality in radiographic imaging.
The seminar concluded with students gaining valuable insights and strengthened familiarity with essential radiologic concepts, further preparing them for academic advancement and future professional practice in the field of Radiologic Technology.
