The project, developed by Alren Grampon, Angel Delgado, Ezekiel Tolentino, and Jepsie Beron, under the guidance of their adviser, Ms. Chenee A. Naluz, demonstrates how information technology can be translated into practical solutions for pressing community concerns. By integrating Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies, FLORES explores an intelligent approach to flood monitoring and early warning, particularly for communities situated along the Bucayao River.
More than an academic requirement, FLORES reflects the capacity of BSIT students to apply their knowledge in emerging technologies to address real-world challenges in disaster risk reduction, environmental monitoring, and community preparedness. It represents the kind of innovation that moves beyond the classroomโwhere technical competence is developed with a clear sense of social responsibility.
This presentation is likewise a testament to the School of Information and Technologyโs commitment to developing student innovators who create technology not merely for technological advancement, but for meaningful community impact. Through research, innovation, and socially responsive information technology, SIT continues to empower its students to become capable technology professionals and responsible contributors to safer and more resilient communities.
