Cultivating Partnerships for a Sustainable Future๐ฑ
PUP Calauan Campus held an exploratory meeting with Mrs. Josephine Costales, Founder and Chairperson of Costales Nature Farms, and our distinguished 14th Commencement Exercises Guest Speaker, to explore opportunities for meaningful collaboration.
The exploratory meeting centered on potential partnerships in sustainable agriculture, agripreneurship, research and innovation, extension services, experiential learning, product development, and community empowermentโareas that reflect the shared commitment of both institutions to sustainability and inclusive development.
Located in Majayjay, Laguna, Costales Nature Farms has established itself as a pioneering farm-tourism destination and a model for integrating organic agriculture, entrepreneurship, education, tourism, and environmental stewardship. Its sustainable farming practices demonstrate how agriculture can go beyond food production to create livelihood opportunities, promote healthier communities, and encourage responsible use of natural resources.
As an accredited Extension Service Provider of the Department of AgricultureโAgricultural Training Institute (DA-ATI), the farm also contributes to agricultural education and capacity building by sharing practical knowledge and technologies in organic agriculture through training and other learning activities.
During the visit, PUP Calauan also showcased some of its locally developed products, highlighting the Campusโ continuing efforts in research utilization, innovation, intellectual property development, entrepreneurship, and commercialization. The discussion opened possibilities for hands-on learning, knowledge and technology exchange, collaborative research, capacity-building activities, and community-based initiatives.
The prospective partnership underscores PUP Calauanโs commitment to strengthening academe-industry-community linkages and transforming education and research into practical solutions that contribute to sustainable livelihoods and resilient communities.
By bringing education, enterprise, and sustainability together, PUP Calauan continues to cultivate partnerships that turn knowledge into innovationโand innovation into meaningful community impact.
๐ฑ Planting partnerships today. Growing sustainable communities tomorrow.
