The Junior Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines – NwSSU Student Chapter (JIECEP-NwSSU) successfully conducted a full-day seminar-workshop that brought BSECE students closer to real-world engineering practice!

The day kicked off with an insightful morning session on Broadcast Engineering for Public Service, where participants explored the inner workings of AM and FM radio stations serving Filipino communities. Our guest speaker, Engr. Francis Balvez, Acting Broadcast Supervisor of Radyo Pilipinas Calbayog, shared valuable industry knowledge and over a decade of hands-on experience—giving students a clearer view of how engineering supports public communication. 📡

In the afternoon, the energy shifted from learning to building as participants engaged in a hands-on workshop on Arduino and ESP32, guided by our very own BSECE-4 students. From circuit setup to actual implementation, students enhanced their technical skills and gained practical experience in embedded systems and microcontroller applications. 💻

From theory to application, from past technologies to future innovations—this event truly bridged the gap between classroom learning and industry practice.

Thank you to everyone who participated and made this event a success. Let’s continue wiring the past and powering the future, one innovation at a time!

They say ECE is just math and logic, but we know it’s mostly about the resilience you show when the simulation doesn't converge or the hardware just won't cooperate.

For our "A Day in the Life" competition, we’re looking back at the entries from each team that captured the raw, unfiltered experience of being a BSECE student at NwSSU. From the early morning lab rushes to the late-night debugging sessions, you guys showed the true heart of this organization during ECE Week 2026.

Shoutout to every team—Crimson Lions, Green Mantis and Blue rose—for documenting the chaos and the "magic" that happens behind the scenes. You proved that surpassing our limits isn't just a theme; it’s our daily routine.

Take a look at how each team navigated the high-pressure semester and turned technical hurdles into high-voltage success.

As we close out an incredible ECE Week 2026, the JIECEP family takes a moment to recognize the people who personally stepped up to make this 20th-anniversary celebration a success.

None of this would have been possible without the generous financial support of our individual sponsors. Your contributions provided the essential funding that fueled our activities and allowed our student community to truly surpass their limits.

Our Sincerest Gratitude to:
Lecil Castillano, Ma. Aimee Yabao, M.Eng, Hans Joshua Machate, Engr. Nickmar Balvez, Engr. Noemi Majait, Ma. Darlene O. Gementiza, M.Eng, Binniajr Cesar Josef Julaton, Merci Flor Vere, Mrs. Josephine & Mr. Arnel Machate, Dioven Cardinas, Engr. Francis Balvez, Rom Bngoyan, Engr.
