The School of Agriculture of West Visayas State University – Calinog Campus proudly marked this year’s Annual Colloquium with the inspiring theme: “Green Innovation for the Nation, Research for Agricultural Transformation.” 🌾

The program commenced with heartfelt opening remarks delivered by Dr. Jovas C. Paragados, OIC Director of the School of Agriculture. This was followed by an uplifting and empowering message from Dr. Rosario Clarabel Contreras-Leda, the esteemed Campus Administrator, who emphasized the importance of research as a driving force for agricultural progress and sustainability 🌿

Adding depth and expertise to the event, three distinguished panelists from diverse fields of agriculture: Ms. Chesa A. Elenterio, Mr. Raffy R. Danggoy, and Prof. Recel T. Cabral, graciously shared their insights, constructive feedback, and professional perspectives on the thesis presentations. Their contributions enriched the academic discourse and inspired the student-researchers to pursue excellence in their work 🐮🐷

A total of seven research groups showcased their scholarly outputs. These included four groups from the Animal Science (4A) program and three groups from the Crop Science (4B) program, each presenting innovative studies aimed at addressing pressing challenges and opportunities in the agricultural sector 😇

The colloquium not only highlighted the creativity and dedication of the students but also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to fostering research that transforms agriculture into a more sustainable, resilient, and future-ready industry ✨

Three 4th Year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture students from the School of Agriculture at West Visayas State University – Calinog Campus have proudly begun their month-long academic exchange program at Lovely Professional University (LPU) in Phagwara, India. Their journey runs from February 21 to March 23, 2026, marking a significant milestone in their academic and personal growth ✨

Fernandez, Coordinator of the Public Affairs and Linkages Office, these students have been entrusted with the meaningful responsibility of representing WVSU-Calinog on the international stage 🌍
