𝗩𝗣𝗣𝗗 𝗧𝘂𝗮𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗣𝗖𝗙-𝗨𝗡𝗜𝗟𝗔𝗕 𝗠𝗢𝗨 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴
Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and Vice President for Planning and Development Evita Jimenez-Tuazon of Mariners’ Polytechnic Colleges Foundation of Canaman (Cam. Sur) Inc. (MPCF) emphasized the institution’s role in shaping students’ future during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with UNILAB Education at the MPCF International Culinary Training Center Mess Hall today, May 11, 2026.
"This agreement [and collaboration with UNILAB] may usher us into a new era…What is lacking [for the] Mariners’ is the lack of planning [for] the future," said VPPD Tuazon.
She also added that this MOU is not an official agreement between the two institutions but rather a partnership that she wants to continue and see what both sides can offer to each other.
“MOU is not an agreement but a form of cooperation, where we agree with a partner that we will explore together to find out what we want, where to go, and what direction to take, " she added.
Furthermore, MPCF President Dr. Marilissa Jimenez-Ampuan expressed her commitment to the collaboration and extended gratitude to the individuals behind the initiative.
Meanwhile, UNILAB Strategic Partnerships and Program Development representative Mr. Rene Ledesma shared his vision for Mariners’ growth through the partnership.
“Today, we are not only celebrating a milestone, but we are also making history together through the signing of the MOU for the development of the blue-green workforce,” Mr. Ledesma said.
“The future belongs to organizations willing to collaborate, innovate, and serve with purpose, and today, Mariners’ and UNILAB Education make an important step forward together in building a sustainable future,” he added.
The MOU signing aims to strengthen collaboration between MPCF and UNILAB Education to promote education-to-employment opportunities and sustainable workforce development for future generations.
