𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐆𝐄 | Dr. Arnel B. Zarcedo, University President, delivered the message of gratitude during the fourth day of Partido State University's 25th Charter Anniversary, a tribute to the late Speaker Arnulfo P. Fuentebella.

In his speech, Dr. Zarcedo expressed profound thanks to Arnulfo P. Fuentebella, the visionary who made Partido State University possible.

University of Kansas and Dr. Rafe Brown Honored with 2026 PagHONRA Award at Partido State University’s Silver Charter Anniversary

Partido State University, in celebration of its Silver Charter Anniversary, successfully hosted the 2026 PagHONRA: A Tribute to RDE Partners and Stakeholders last March 4, 2026 at the Culture and Arts Auditorium, Goa, Camarines Sur.

During the ceremony, the University of Kansas - Herpetology Division, Natural History Museum and Biodiversity Institute, together with Dr. Rafe Brown, were honored as recipients of the 2026 PagHONRA Award.

This recognition highlighted their outstanding contributions to research and extension programs that have significantly advanced sustainable development in Partido.

𝐖𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐒𝐔, 𝐃𝐑. 𝐑𝐀𝐅𝐄 𝐌. 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐍!

The Partido State University is honored to welcome back Dr. Rafe M. Brown, a distinguished Professor of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Kansas. This time, Dr. Brown will serve as a Visiting Scholar and Adjunct Professor at our university thru the prestigious Fulbright Scholar Program, bringing with him a wealth of expertise and knowledge.

As an internationally recognized herpetology expert, Dr. Brown will engage in groundbreaking collaborative research focused on terrestrial biodiversity, conservation, and the taxonomy of amphibians and reptiles in the Bicol Region of the Philippines. In addition to his research contributions, he will also serve as a professional lecturer for selected undergraduate and graduate courses at ParSU.

Dr. Brown has received the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award, which will enable him to spend five months conducting research and teaching in the Philippines. He is among U.S. citizens selected for this highly competitive fellowship for the 2024-25 academic year, highlighting his commitment to enhancing global education and research collaboration.

This exciting research and academic engagement is made possible through the leadership and efforts of Dr. Michael A. Clores, VP for Academic Affairs and Concurrent Dean of the College of Sustainable Communities and Ecosystems; Dr. Raul G. Bradecina, VP for Research, Extension, and Knowledge Management; Prof. Charlie V. Balagtas, VP for Administration and Finance; and Dr. Arnel B. Zarcedo, SUC President III.

We are delighted to have Dr. Brown join the ParSU community and look forward to the enriching opportunities his presence will bring as we continue to foster collaboration and partnership in research and academics!
