Nutshell of the UEP Quick Response Against COVID-19
The UEP Administration has taken proactive initiatives to combat the threat of pandemic Covid-19. As an academic institution, the welfare of its members is indeed a primordial and foremost concern.Hence, the UEP administration has taken great stride in establishing quick response as precautionary measures to contain the possible spread of Covid-19.
These are the UEP Administration's proactive initiatives and quick response against Covid-19, to wit:
March 11, 2020
- convened the Administrative Council to discuss emergency action plan for Covid-19.
- issued special order mandating the creation and activation of the UEP Covid-19 Crisis Management Team and Task Force in the pursuit of instituting appropriate precautionary measures against the contamination of the virus, consistent with the Proclamation order no. 922 and other pertinent issuances of the CHED and the DOH.
- issued memorandum declaring suspension of co-curricular/extra-curricular events and activities.
March 12, 2020
- distributed alcohol to colleges for students use.
- distributed vitamin c supplements to students.
- issued memorandum on the temporary suspension on the use of the biometrics attendance.
- conducted cleaning and sanitation activities.
March 13, 2020
- issued memorandum designating the entry and exit points in the University campus as preventive measures and to protect the entire academic community against the threat of Covid-19.
- issued memorandum to all concerned to submit list of faculty/staff/students with travel history to places with confirmed Covid-19 cases and advice them to contact their respective BHERTs.
March 16, 2020
- issued directive for a home based work scheme for faculty members and restriction of movements in the campus.
- issued directive for the early processing and release of salaries of all workers.
March 17, 2020
- recommended to the PDRRMC of Norhern Samar headed by Hon. Edwin Ongchuan to extend suspension of classes for the ptotection and welfare of our students.
- adherence to the Executive order no. 01-03-20 issued by the Provincial Governor placing the entire Province under General Community Quarantine and accordingly extended the class suspension to April 14, 2020.
- followed the pronouncements and directives issued by President Rodrigo Duterte to abide by the orders of LGU concerned being the rightful authority to suspend classes amid this health crisis.
March 18, 2020
- monitored the early processing and release of salaries.
- approved the request of the UEP Medical and Dental unit for the purchase of 100 gallons of 70% alcohol.
March 19, 2020
- issued a memorandum for the adoption of a modified work scheme for the administrative, finance, academic support offices, special/income generating projects as a precautionary measures against Covid-19, the scheme covers a workplan, skeletal workforce, and a modified work schedule to be adopted ensuring delivery of basic services and implementing strict precautionary measures against the spread of COVID-19.
The UEP Administration joins the entire country in fighting and preventing COVID-19. We will act as one and succeed as one. Let us be vigilant because we are confronted with a pandemic though cannot be seen but can be seriously felt, destructive of lives and our future.
