On August 20, 2026, The BAPA Students Successfully Conclude Internship Through Closing Program

The Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration (BAPA) students of the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP) successfully concluded their internship journey through a closing program held on August 20, 2026, at the UEP Centennial Hall. The program commenced at 1:00 p.m., bringing together BAPA interns, faculty members, university officials, and guests to celebrate the students’ successful completion of their internship.

The program formally opened with the welcome remarks of Sir Jerald C. Erivera, Chair of the Social Sciences Department and BAPA Coordinator. He welcomed the participants and highlighted the significance of the occasion as a celebration of the interns’ experiences, accomplishments, and growth throughout their internship journey.

The opening remarks were followed by an intermission performance from the DILG interns, who presented an interpretative dance of Bagong Pilipinas. Their performance brought energy to the program while reflecting the spirit of service and hope associated with the new generation of public servants.

A message of support was then delivered by Atty. Jayvee Wilfred C. Baya, DPA, Dean of the College of Arts and Communication. This was followed by a message from Julio Oevardone, MPA, a BAPA Core Faculty, who shared words of encouragement and guidance with the graduating interns.

The program continued with a message from the University SIPP Director, Mr. Michiel Bernardo, JD. His message emphasized the importance of the internship experience in preparing students for the demands and responsibilities of the professional world.

Adding excitement to the celebration was an electrifying dance performance by BAPA intern Merryl Mora. This was followed by a message from the University President, Dr. Cherry I. Ultra, who shared her support and encouragement for the interns as they move forward in their academic and professional journeys.

One of the highlights of the program was the presentation of Certificates of Internship to the BAPA interns in recognition of their successful completion of their internship. The recognition celebrated not only the completion of the required internship but also the dedication and effort demonstrated by the students throughout their deployment.

The celebration continued with a musical performance from BAPA intern Darwin Diaz, who serenaded the audience through a singing performance. This was followed by the presentation of special awards to deserving BAPA interns in recognition of their exemplary contributions and achievements during their internship.

Representing the BAPA interns, BAPA President Christine Mary Estinopo delivered a message expressing the interns’ gratitude and appreciation to the university officials, faculty members, internship coordinators, partner agencies, supervisors, and everyone who contributed to the success of their internship journey.

The program concluded with the closing remarks of Ma. Mercedes G. Sosa, DPA, SIPP Coordinator. Her message centered on the values upheld by the interns throughout their internship, emphasizing professionalism, responsibility, dedication, perseverance, teamwork, and commitment to public service. She also expressed her gratitude to all the individuals and offices who supported and guided the students, recognizing their collective efforts in making the internship program successful.

The closing program served as a meaningful culmination of the BAPA students’ internship journey. More than a recognition of completed requirements, it celebrated the knowledge, experiences, values, and lessons gained by the interns as they continue their journey toward becoming competent, responsible, and committed future public administrators.
