The Samar State University Graduate School successfully conducted its General Orientation on August 8, 2026, at 8:00 AM at the Convention Center, 3rd Floor, bringing together both new and continuing graduate students as they prepare for another meaningful academic year.

The event welcomed newly admitted students who attended onsite, while continuing students participated virtually via Zoom, ensuring wider accessibility and engagement among members of the graduate school community.

The orientation featured presentations on the Graduate School's goals and programs, academic rules and regulations, internationalization initiatives, library resources and services, and security and gate pass protocols. University officials and key personnel provided valuable information to help students navigate their graduate studies and maximize the opportunities available to them.

This was followed by collaborative lecture sessions where SSU MAED English students and TVU students engaged in meaningful discussions on informal assessment strategies observed in films, cross-cultural perspectives on assessment practices, and the development of informal classroom assessment plans tailored to their respective teaching contexts. The Office regrets to inform you that some courses offered for the First Semester, S.Y. 2026โ€“2027 have been dissolved due to an insufficient number of enrollees.

However, students may submit a request letter to reopen a dissolved course if they are willing to cover the remaining fees needed to meet the minimum required number of students, as provided under Article 10, Section 1 of the Graduate Program Manual of Operations (GPMO), BOR Resolution No. 20, s. 2021.
