𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗖𝗛 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗠

In line with the Community Extension Program of the College of Pharmacy’s mission of saving lives, an annual Christmas gift-giving activity was conducted at 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥. This initiative emphasized that saving lives can happen even in the smallest ways, such as bringing smiles to patients through simple gifts, kind gestures, and heartfelt presence—especially during the holiday season.

The project was able to reach in-patients, dialysis patients, and ER patients through the distribution of 100 Christmas packages containing basic foodstuffs donated by Pharmacy students from the first year to the fourth year. Prior to the distribution of gifts, the students shared the spirit of Christmas by singing Christmas songs to the patients, bringing warmth, comfort, and joy to the hospital wards.

With a heart full of gratitude, these gift-giving was made more memorable by the following in-kind and monetary donations by these individuals and groups:
1. Toys from the 𝐀𝐏𝐎 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐄𝐏 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬,
2. 30 mugs from the 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡-𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬,
3. Boxes of well-loved stuffed toys from 𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐡 𝐂𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐚,

These additional donations were distributed to further spread joy, comfort, and the spirit of Christmas among the recipients, making the outreach activity a memorable and heartfelt expression of compassion and generosity.

The CEP Adviser, CEP Officers, and the fourth-year students actively participated in the program, and their collective efforts greatly contributed to the significance and positive impact of the activity. This outreach served as a reminder that even small gestures of goodwill—such as a song, a smile, or a simple gift—can provide comfort and hope, especially during the holiday season, truly exemplifying the spirit of giving from the heart.

We proudly congratulate 𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰 𝗜. 𝗥𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀, a 4th Year BS Pharmacy student at the University of Perpetual Help System – Isabela Campus, for a successful presentation of his group’s thesis.

The Annual Health Research Forum was held on December 15 and 16 at NGN Gran Hotel, Tuguegarao City, in connection with the celebration of the Philippine National Health Research Week with its theme "𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐌𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡.".

𝗗𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰 𝗜. 𝗥𝗲𝘆𝗲𝘀, presented their research on behalf of their group. An acknowledgement is also given to his co-researchers, 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹 𝗔𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗮 𝗔. 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮 for contributing valuable informations and exerting efforts to the success of their research.

Today, December 8, 2025, is the day we honor the 𝙁𝙚𝙖𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮. A reminder of the perfect plan of God and the special grace given to Mary from the moment of her conception. This feast illustrates that Mary was selected to be pure and full of grace because she was to be the mother of Jesus. Her existence narrates the story of deep faith, humility, and surrender to the Divine will.

As we honor her today, may her example inspire us to live with faith and a pure heart.

Ms. Guzman's victory is not just a personal win; it is her commitment and hard work that are being recognized. The fact that she could manage her Pharmacy studies and at the same time getting ready for this title; shows her self-control and resolve. The 8th White Coat Ceremony of the College of Pharmacy, University of Perpetual Help System Laguna – Isabela Campus, will long be remembered as the day when future Perpetualite pharmacists stood shoulder to shoulder with giants of their profession. On November 26, 2024, thirty third-year BS Pharmacy students crossed the red carpet and into their new identity as student pharmacists, under the theme “From Lab Gown to White Coat: Bridging Knowledge and Commitment of Perpetualite Pharmacy Students in Becoming Remarkable Pharmacists.”

For the first time in the history of the college’s White Coat Ceremony, the event was graced simultaneously by 𝒂 𝒀𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒔 𝑮𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒑 (𝒀𝑷𝑮) 𝒐𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒓 – 𝑴𝒓. Their presence did not only honor the students; it signaled that this small campus in Isabela had become visible on the national pharmacy map, linking local dreams to the wider landscape of the profession.

As each student was cloaked in white coat by these distinguished leaders, the ritual became more than a transition from classroom to clinical practice, it became a powerful affirmation that the journey of Perpetualite pharmacy student is aligned with the highest standards and aspirations of Philippine pharmacy. They were also reminded that becoming a truly remarkable pharmacist is never easy, and that leaving a lasting impact on every patient will always be a demanding calling. Yet they were told that one becomes remarkable not by chasing perfection, but by doing the everyday work of a pharmacist with honor, humility, and deep compassion. The students were likewise encouraged to pause and recognize how far they have already come, through difficult subjects, sleepless nights, and countless sacrifices, which is why this moment rightly became a celebration. It was not just about donning the white coat, but about honoring the journey that led them there and the greater journey that now begins.

In the closing message, the 3rd year BS Pharmacy students were reminded that the white coat is not just a symbol of achievement, but a daily reminder to become pharmacists “with a heart to serve and a hand that is always ready to be extended.” As the hosts, Ms. Ma. Alaiza B. Hamtig and Mx. The day is a great victory for all the late-night reviews, the self-doubts you overcame, and the dreams you held on to.

Warmest congratulations to our newest Pharmacists! You have overcome every challenge with great patience, hard work, and love for the profession. May the "𝐑𝐏𝐡" that has just been attached to your name serve as a constant reminder of your calling: to heal, to serve, and to make a difference with both skill and heart.

To the ones who didn’t make it to the finish line today, just keep this in mind: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞. Your way might bend, stop or move slowly, but it will never wipe out the future that is waiting for you. Be confident, take a deep breath, and continue. Your success will arrive when it is supposed to, and it will be all the more rewarding because of the journey you took.

We are really grateful to sir Crisfel Rosario del Mundo, MSc, RPh, for his participation and motivating speech at the 9th Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony.

Sir Crisfel urged the students that "𝒕𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝒎𝒂𝒓𝒌𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒇 𝒂 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒕 𝒐𝒏 𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆, 𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏." He pointed out that wearing a white coat is not for noticing but for accepting a responsibility which is a very strong reminder of the trust and commitment that go with the profession. His observations empowered our coming Pharmacists to accept their roles with honesty, kindness, and devotion to medical care.

On the 21st of November in the year 2025, the College of Pharmacy celebrated the 9𝙩𝙝 𝙒𝙝𝙞𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙖𝙩 𝘾𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙋𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙮 at Japi Hotel, Cauayan City, Teodora Hall, which was a milestone for students in terms of their professional responsibility.

The welcome address was delivered by 𝘿𝙧. 𝙒𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙇. 𝘾𝙖𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙜, 𝙀𝙙.𝘿., 𝙋𝙝𝘿., where he pointed out the white coat to be an emblem of society's trust in Pharmacists, accountability, and commitment. After that, the ceremony went on with the opening remarks of 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙖 𝙏𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙖 𝙎. 𝘿𝙚𝙡𝙖 𝘾𝙧𝙪𝙯, 𝙍𝙋𝙝, 𝙈.𝙎., 𝙋𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙢𝘿., the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, who spoke about perseverance, humility, and ethical practice as the needed characteristics for the future healthcare providers.

Guest speaker 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙛𝙚𝙡 𝙍𝙤𝙨𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙤 𝙙𝙚𝙡 𝙈𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙤, 𝙈𝙎𝙘, 𝙍𝙋𝙝, made it clear to the students that the white coat was not a symbol of higher rank but, on the contrary, a commitment to patient safety, lifelong education, and service to humankind. The most important part of the ceremony, the White Coat Proper and the Oath of a Pharmacy Student, confirmed their promise to be compassionate, competent, and honest. He also expressed gratitude to the parents of the 3rd-year students for their unwavering support and encouragement throughout their journey.

𝙈𝙖. 𝘼𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙯𝙖 𝘽. 𝙃𝙖𝙢𝙩𝙞𝙜, 𝙍𝙋𝙝, 𝙍𝘾𝙝𝙏, the Adviser of the Apothecarians Club, while delivering her closing remarks, told the students that “𝒆𝒂𝒄𝒉 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒔 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅𝒔 𝒂 𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒚, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚 𝒋𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒏𝒆𝒚 𝒔𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈.” Then she presented 3rd-year Pharmacy students with a really touching gift and called them her "𝒔𝒘𝒆𝒆𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒔," which was her way of encouraging, loving, and supporting these students through the whole journey of their lives and careers.

The event ended with a prayer and the Philippine Pharmacy Hymn being sung, thus giving students a renewed sense of their mission. The ceremony, which was more than just an academic achievement, symbolized their transformation into responsible future Pharmacists who are willing and able to take on the challenges, responsibilities, and the calling that come with the coat.

As we step into a new chapter of our lives as future Pharmacists, we gather today to express our gratitude and to reflect upon our journey so far. This Thanksgiving Mass reminds us that every step we have taken has been guided with purpose and faith—𝒏𝒂 𝒃𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒅, 𝒅𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒍, 𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒂𝒌𝒓𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒔𝒚𝒐 𝒂𝒚 𝒎𝒂𝒚 𝒌𝒂𝒉𝒖𝒍𝒖𝒈𝒂𝒏.

In the homily, Father reminded us that wearing the white coat is not just an achievement—it is a calling. When we put it on, we are not only clothing ourselves with knowledge and skill, but with responsibility. The white coat symbolizes purity of intention and honesty in action—𝒏𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝒃𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒂𝒈𝒔𝒖𝒐𝒕 𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒐, 𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒏 𝒕𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒊𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒂𝒎𝒂 𝒌𝒂𝒉𝒊𝒕 𝒎𝒂𝒉𝒊𝒓𝒂𝒑. Father emphasized that the coat is not for us alone; it exists for the people we serve. It becomes a shield of trust for patients who depend on our care, and a reminder that our purpose is bigger than ourselves. November 21, 2025, the 9th White Coat Ceremony of the Third Year Pharmacy students of the University of Perpetual Help System–Isabela Campus was held with the theme “𝑩𝒆𝒚𝒐𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑪𝒐𝒂𝒕: 𝑬𝒎𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒐 𝑳𝒊𝒇𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆.” This ceremony marked more than just a tradition—it signified a new chapter for future Pharmacists as they step closer to their calling in service and compassion.

Now we are passing through the time where learning medicines transforms into giving service to people. From gaining knowledge in science to embracing real responsibility, this journey challenges us to become better and more committed. The ceremony invites us to reflect on one important question: 𝑾𝒉𝒚 𝒅𝒊𝒅 𝒘𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒑𝒂𝒕𝒉? The answer is simple yet profound: to cure, to assist, and to create a ripple effect of goodness in the lives of everyone we encounter. The coats we received that day are a reminder of our duty, honesty and the promise to keep the standards of our profession. This ceremony signals to us that the future work might be tough, but it will also be very rewarding. Every single skill we acquire, every patient we support, and every difficulty we tackle takes us a step closer to being the experts we want to be.

Congratulations to our 3rd Year Pharmacy students on this significant milestone, you are now an official 𝐒𝐏𝐡 (𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐭). The White Coat Ceremony marks not just progress in your studies, but the beginning of your greater purpose as future Pharmacists.
