A significant chapter unfolded for the ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐น 2 ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ก๐๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐๐ฒ๐ณ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ ๐ฉ๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ฒ, as they formally embraced the responsibilities and ideals of the nursing profession during the 20๐๐ต ๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฝ๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐ฃ๐ถ๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐น๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ด๐ต๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐, held on September 1, 2026, at the Recoletos 4th Centennial Gymnasium, Caรฑacao Campus.
With the theme, โ๐ท๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ป๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ ๐ฌ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐: ๐ป๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐ฒ๐๐๐๐๐๐
๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐บ๐๐๐๐๐๐,โ the ceremony represented far more than an academic tradition. It marked a meaningful transition in the studentsโ formation from acquiring the foundations of nursing knowledge to accepting the greater responsibility of translating that knowledge into compassionate, competent, and selfless service.
The occasion was honored by the presence of Rev. Fr. Romeo Ben A. Potencio Jr., OAR, College President, whose leadership and steadfast support for the academic and professional formation of Sebastinian students continue to strengthen the institutionโs commitment to excellence and service. His presence gave greater significance to this important milestone in the journey of the future nurses of the College.
The celebration was made even more solemn through the Holy Eucharist presided over by Rev. Fr. Dexter D. Paliagtosa, OAR, Chancellor and Vice President for Identity, Formation, and Mission. Through prayer and reflection, the Nursingales were reminded that their journey toward becoming nurses is not founded on knowledge and clinical competence alone, but also on faith, compassion, integrity, and a genuine commitment to serve others.
The College likewise gratefully acknowledges the presence of the Lay Administrators, whose support and participation added distinction to this memorable occasion.
At the heart of the ceremony were the time-honored traditions of the capping, pinning, and candle lighting. Each symbol carries a profound meaning in the formation of a nurse. The cap represents dedication to the profession; the pin signifies the responsibility and identity that come with nursing; and the lighted candle symbolizes the enduring light of knowledge, compassion, hope, and service that every nurse is called to carry.
As each received a candle, individual flames came together to illuminate the ceremony a powerful representation of a shared commitment to bring comfort to those who suffer, hope to those who are vulnerable, and compassionate care to every life entrusted to them.
The successful celebration of this significant milestone was made possible through the leadership and dedicated stewardship of the ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ ๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ๐ฟ, ๐ ๐ฟ๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ถ๐น๐ฎ ๐๐. ๐ง๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐, ๐ฅ๐ , ๐ฅ๐ก, ๐ ๐๐ก, whose commitment to the College of Nursing continues to be reflected in the academic, clinical, and professional formation , together with the collective dedication and invaluable support of the faculty members and Clinical Instructors of the College of Nursing. Their commitment to teaching, mentorship, clinical formation, and professional guidance continues to prepare the students not only for the demands of the profession, but also for the responsibility of becoming compassionate and competent nurses.
The College also extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who contributed their time, effort, and support toward the successful realization of this meaningful ceremony.
With their caps proudly worn, pins firmly placed, and candles brightly lit, Batch Defensores Vitae now moves forward carrying a greater responsibility. The knowledge they have gained must now find its purpose in service; the skills they continue to develop must be guided by compassion; and the light entrusted to them must be carried wherever the nursing profession may lead.
