And the winner is... The Dr. Jeimylo De Castro Research Excellence Award 🏅

The AUP Psychology Department is rejoicing and we are privileged to feature the success of our Psych graduates, especially in the field of RESEARCH. 📚🎉

✨️ From the Undergraduate category, Shekinah Marie Evangelista, LeAnne Julian, Lea Amor Martinez Eshedo, and Jhoana Marie Monares placed third in the said award. Their winning study is entitled, "Capturing the Wounded Healers: A Photovoice Inquirt Into the Experiences of Selected Filipino Mental Health Practitioners with Psychological Challenges".

✨️From the Masters category, Ms. Bhaby Jean E. Tamboong was honored with the Research Excellence Award for her outstanding research entitled, "A Phenomenological Study on Recidivism: Inputs to Guidance and Counseling Program".

The awardees received their cash prizes and certificates during the Celestia 2026 Commencement Exercise last March 26, 2026 at the Adventist University of the Philippines.

Background:
The Dr. Jeimylo De Castro Research Excellence Award (READ) is a prestigious research award established by Dr. Jeimylo Cristobal De Castro to recognize outstanding scholarly research. It is presented through the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS) International Research Conference and has also been adopted by the Adventist University of the Philippines as one of its highest research distinctions for graduating students.

Meet Kyra Cleodel Dolotallas and Shekinah Marie Evangelista 🤗
Today, AUP Psychology Department features these two newly-graduates from batch Celestia 2026.

So who are they? 🤔
Kyra and Shek are our dedicated Psych students (2022-2024) who have successfully obtained the "Highest GPA" award among all the graduates of Celestia 2026 of the Adventist University of the Philippines during the Commencement Ceremony last March 29, 2026. Their GPA? 3.90! 🤩 (Basing on the 4.00 GPA).

Psych students, are you also dreaming of becoming the next to be awarded with the Highest GPA? Well, there is nothing too hard for the Lord. Do your best and He will do the rest! Cling to the Master Teacher, the Source of all true knowledge and wisdom.

Faculty in Action: In the Service of the King ❤️
"Empowering Teachers for Inclusive and Mentally Healthy Classrooms"

Faculty members of the AUP Psychology Department and AUP College of Teacher Education conducted a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) seminar to church school teachers of the Southern Luzon Mission of Seventh-day Adventists in collaboration with the SLM Education Department. The training was held last May 10-11, 2026 at the SLM Worship Hall, Legazpi City, Albay.

The Industrial Organizational Psychology class of Ma'am Dimpz Sadicon-Olita had their educational tour at the following organizations:
🥪 Gardenia Bread Philippines
🥛Yakult Plant Philippines
🏢 Pag-IBIG Fund Calamba branch

The objective of the said activity was to allow the students to observe how psychological principles are applied in real workplace settings, enabling them to connect theoretical concepts with organizational practices and develop a deeper understanding of human behavior at work.

It was a fun experience! Would love to join the next company tour.

Welcome New and Returning Students! 🤩

The AUP Psychology Department conducted our First Psychology Major's Forum this Academic Year 2026-2027. It was held last July 3, 2026 at the CAH Multipurpose Hall.

The objective of this activity is to warmly welcome everyone in the Psychology Department, most especially our freshman students; and to orient them with their academic endeavors as BS/AB Psych students. It was then followed by the election of officers per year level and the Eupsychian Society.

Let's enjoy this fresh semester together. ✨️
