Being an archipelago is often described as one of the reasons the Philippines is a divided nation. Yet, our seas have never simply been barriers. Long before modern borders and transportation, our ancestors crossed waters, exchanged ideas, built relationships, and connected communities.

During the oral arguments on the recognition of foreign divorce between two Filipinos, ๐’๐ž๐ง๐ข๐จ๐ซ ๐€๐ฌ๐ฌ๐จ๐œ๐ข๐š๐ญ๐ž ๐‰๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ ๐‹๐ž๐จ๐ง๐ž๐ง raised different family situations, including a widow and child, single parents, unmarried couples with children, same-sex partners with adopted children, and grandparents caring for an orphan.

Behind every pin is a journey marked by ๐œ๐ก๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ฌ, ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐›๐š๐ญ๐ญ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ, ๐ฌ๐ฅ๐ž๐ž๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ๐ฌ ๐ง๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ๐ฌ, and countless sacrifices.
