The University of Cebu – College of Social Work participated in the 𝗗𝗦𝗪𝗗 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘄𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗴𝗲 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗦𝘆𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘂𝗺 on October 16, 2026, at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation Theater. The event was attended by the College’s 4th Year and 3rd Year Social Work students, who gained valuable insights from research presentations and discussions on pressing social issues.

The symposium also featured 𝗠𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮 𝗩𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗱𝗲𝘇 𝗥. 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲, 𝗥𝗦𝗪, 𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗥𝗠, and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗚𝗹𝘆𝗱𝗶𝘇𝗮 𝗘. 𝗚𝗼𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗰𝗼, 𝗥𝗦𝗪, 𝗟𝗣𝗧, 𝗠𝗧𝗔, who took the stage to share their knowledge and insights, emphasizing the importance of research and knowledge exchange in strengthening Social Work practice.

The study examines the challenges encountered by barangays and the effectiveness of their strategies in implementing reintegration programs for Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL). It highlights the importance of community-based interventions that help children rebuild their lives and successfully reintegrate into their families and communities.

Through research presentations and knowledge exchange, our students and educators continue to demonstrate how research can inform responsive interventions, strengthen community programs, and contribute to positive social change.

Today, October 10, we join the global community in observing 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆, reminding everyone that mental health is an essential part of our overall well-being and deserves the same care, understanding, and attention as our physical health.

As members of the Social Work community, we recognize that caring for people means looking beyond what is visible. It means listening without judgment, creating safe spaces, respecting every person’s dignity, and reminding those who are struggling that they do not have to face everything alone.

On October 2, 2026, the College of Social Work, under the leadership of Dean Dr. Khalachuchi S. Flores-Caballes, together with the Junior Social Workers Association of the Philippines (JSWAP), successfully conducted “𝗧𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗮: 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗥𝗦𝗪𝘀,” a special tribute honoring our newly registered social workers, including 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗻 and other successful passers of the September 2026 Social Work Licensure Examination.

Held at the Engineering Building AVR, 10th Floor, the gathering became a heartfelt celebration of journeys marked by perseverance, sacrifice, faith, and determination.

For years, these aspiring social workers carried dreams in their hearts, endured sleepless nights, overcame challenges, and continued moving forward despite uncertainties. On this day, those dreams were no longer aspirations—they had become reality.

More than a tribute, the activity served as a reminder of every lesson learned, every struggle conquered, every prayer offered, and every person who became part of their journey toward becoming 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀.

As stories were shared and memories revisited, the gathering reflected the true essence of the profession: resilience, compassion, service, and hope.

To our newly registered social workers, may this achievement be the beginning of a greater journey of serving individuals, families, groups, and communities with competence, integrity, and heart.

Today, the College of Social Work proudly celebrates a remarkable achievement as our graduates successfully conquered the September 2026 Social Work Licensure Examination and officially earned the title of 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀.

This milestone is the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, sacrifices, sleepless nights, and unwavering faith. Your success is a testament to your dedication to the profession and your commitment to serving humanity.

Adding to this momentous achievement, the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 proudly secured 𝗥𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝟮 in the category of schools with 10–50 examinees and with at least 80% passing percentage, achieving an outstanding 𝟵𝟳.𝟵𝟲% 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲, with 𝟰𝟴 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝟰𝟵 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝘀 successfully passing the September 2026 Social Work Licensure Examination. Tomorrow marks another significant moment for our board takers as the results of the September 2026 Social Work Licensure Examination are expected to be released.

To our dear 𝗕𝗮𝘁𝗰𝗵 𝗠𝗮𝗽𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗻 and to all Social Work licensure examination takers across the country, know that an entire community is celebrating the journey that brought you to this moment.

The examination may be over, but the courage, perseverance, sacrifices, sleepless nights, and unwavering faith that carried you through it will always be part of your story.

As we await the results, may you find peace in knowing that you gave your best, trusted the process, and fought hard for your dream.

Tonight, rest your worries and hold on to hope.
