Cebu Technological University recently conducted its 4th Quarter Regular Board of Regents' Meeting held on December 16, 2023, at the CHED Central Boardroom Office in Quezon City. Presided over by Chairperson Designate Comm. Jo Mark M. Libre and Vice-Chairperson/OIC President Hon. Rosein A. Ancheta, Jr., who also holds the position of Executive Vice President of Operations.

Among the attendees were board members, including Hon. Rhea Mae A. Gullas, the Representative of the House Committee on Higher and Technical Education, who participated virtually. Hon. Erico O. Bucoy, the Representative of the Senate Committee on Higher, Technical, and Vocational Education, also attended virtually. Other participants included Hon. Jennifer C. Bretaña, Regional Director, NEDA, RO7; Hon. Jesus F. Zamora, Jr., Regional Director, DOST RO7, who participated virtually; Hon. Denilin B. Avila, President, Federation of CTU Faculty Association; Hon. Antonio Del Socorro, President, Federation of the Alumni Association; Hon. Maria Jessa L. Morales, President, Federation of Student Government; and Ms. Mira Nona M. Flores, Board Secretary V.

The meeting was virtually joined by Dr. Milabel E. Ho, the Executive Director of AACCUP and Chairperson of the Search Committee for CTU Presidency, as well as JD Jerlito A. Letrondo, Vice President for Administration and Finance; Dr. Archiebald Baltazar B. Malaki, Vice President for Research and Development; Dr. Edgar U. Tibay, Vice President for Production, Extension, and Resource Generation; Dr. Emma Sacan, Budget Officer V; and Resource Speakers from the Office of the Solicitor General: Assistant Solicitor General, Justice James L. Cundangan; Assistant Solicitor General, Atty. Ruben Ayson; and Senior State Solicitor, Atty. Carlos Vincent Trinidad.

In addition, Dr. Hedeliza A. Pineda, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Atty. Joelie Marie Medalle, OIC CAO for ADMIN/University Legal Officer; Atty. Christian Bacus, OIC Chief Legal Officer; and Mr. Antonieto Pacayra, the Procurement Officer were physically present.

During the meeting, the Board of Regents conducted the voting process, leading to the election of Dr. Joseph C. Pepito as the third University President of CebuTech.

We are grateful for the presence and expertise of the said Board of Regents’ Member, VPs, and resource persons, as their insights and contributions have undoubtedly enhanced the discussions in the meeting.

Get to know CTU’s Presidential Aspirants during the upcoming Pagpadayag: The CTU Presidential Search Public Forum 2023 in the CebuTech Gymnatorium, located at the Cebu Technological University - Main Campus, on October 10, 2023, starting at 8:00 AM. This will be video streamed via CTU’s official pages.

The Pagpadayag Public Forum is part of CTU’s commitment to excellence and transparency. It is organized in accordance with the mandate of the 2022 Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of Republic Act (RA) No. 8292, amending CHED Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 03, Series of 2001: The 2001 Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA No. 8292, also known as the “Higher Education Modernization Act of 1997.”

CebuTech successfully conducted the 4th Quarter Special Board Meeting held on October 4, 2023 at the CHED Central Office. Likewise, the installation of a new Student Regent in the governing board.

CebuTech will always be grateful to the administration of our esteemed Chairperson, Comm. Jo Mark M. Libre and the Vice-Chair at the same time the OIC-President, Dr. Rosein Ancheta Jr. To the members of the BOR we have DOST Region 7, Regional Director Jesus F. Zamora, Jr., Regional Director from NEDA Region 7, Jennifer C. Bretaña who attended the meeting virtually. We also have our Faculty President, Dr. Denilin B. Avila, Almuni President, Dr. Antonio A. Del Socorro and the ever hardworking secretary, Ms. Mira Nona M. Flores

Furthermore, it was also attended by the CHED Regional Director, Dr. Maura Consolacion D. Cristobal and the Executive Director of AACUP at the same time the Chairperson of Search Committee for CTU Presidency, Dr. Milabel E. Ho. With the full support of the CTU key officials namely: JD Jerlito A. Letrondo, Vice President for Administration and Finance, Dr. Hedeliza A. Pineda, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Atty.
