Meet the 𝗥𝘂𝗳𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗛𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗹 (𝘽𝙪𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙨 𝙝𝙮𝙙𝙧𝙤𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙭), the Philippines’ largest hornbill: locally known as 𝗞𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘄, with its 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗾𝘂𝗲 and 𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 that 𝙠𝙚𝙚𝙥 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚. With it's 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱, act as the 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, and a 𝗳𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 who 𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆.

As the Philippines is particularly relevant to supply its critical minerals such as: nickel, copper, and cobalt, that are crucial to high-tech industries.

A US-led international initiative launched in December 2025. It focused on securing supply chains needed for 𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 (𝘼𝙄), 𝙨𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙖𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙚𝙨, especially the critical minerals, silicon, semiconductors, advanced manufacturing, energy and AI infrastructures.
