The Leaders for Empowerment, Action, and Development (L.E.A.D Partylist) crafted these platforms through a deep understanding of the needs, concerns, and aspirations of Social Studies students. We believe in empowering choices and representing every voice — including those often unheard.

Our platforms are rooted in real-life engagement and the genuine needs of students, aiming to shape knowledge, strengthen expertise, and foster meaningful growth throughout their college journey.

L.E.A.D Partylist stands for good governance and progressive administration by listening to the clamor of the majority and transforming these concerns into concrete actions. We ensure that every vote, every opinion, and every choice is valued and never put to waste.

One of our key initiatives is the implementation of USSSO Clubs designed to enhance students’ talents and skills in dancing, singing, and academics. Our organization will provide opportunities for students to grow, explore their potential, step outside their comfort zones, and most importantly, feel seen and valued.

We also promote Educational Tours that provide students with informative and immersive real-life experiences. These tours will allow students to visit historically significant places, helping them better understand the rich narratives and historical roots relevant to Social Studies.

Lastly, we uphold the importance of the General Assembly — a platform where students’ voices are heard, represented, and addressed with transparency and accountability. Alongside this is Panaghiusa, an initiative that strengthens unity, camaraderie, and solidarity among Social Studies students.

Together, let us lead with empowerment, action, and development. ✨

May 1, 2026. Labor Day.

In the late 1700s, our ancestors worked 12 to 16 hours every day, starting from the age of 4 or 5. Their managers beat and threatened them. Our forefathers endured this for a century, and no longer.

At its first congress on May 1, 1886, the American Federation of Labour called for a strike, in demand of an eight-hour workday.

During the strike, a bomb went off in the crowd; the police opened fire. Several police officers and civilians died. More than 60 police officers and 30 to 40 civilians were injured.

In the aftermath, hundreds of labor rights leaders and sympathizers were arrested; some were sentenced to death by hanging. Soon enough, employers silenced their workers' cries, and ten or more hour workdays remained standard.

We live an altogether different reality. While our ancestors died dreaming of an eight-hour workday, we are blessed to stay in that dream for a lifetime.

We take for granted our blessings, anointed as they are in the blood and sweat of a long line of dead men and women who came before us, who birthed us — and the society that shapes us.

Lest we forget... our honorable place in bloody history. May 1, 1886. Labor Day. ❤️💛

Today, April 9, we observe Araw ng Kagitingan (Day of Valor), a significant moment in history dedicated to honoring the heroism of Filipino and American soldiers during World War II.

On this day in 1942, following months of fierce resistance, the surrender of forces in Bataan was led by Edward King Jr.. This event led to the tragic Bataan Death March, where thousands of prisoners endured immense hardship under extreme conditions.

We remember the courage, sacrifice, and unwavering spirit of those who fought for our nation’s freedom. Their legacy stands as a powerful reminder of the cost of liberty and the resilience of the human spirit.

Lest we forget! 🇵🇭

On this day, 128 years ago, Cebuano Katipuneros led by Leon Kilat uprooted Spanish dominion over Cebu City. By 5 AM on April 4, the rebels had driven the Spanish Governor, General Montero, and his Spanish volunteers into Fort San Pedro.

2 days later, Spanish General Tejero arrived with Spanish cazadores and men from the 73rd Native Regiment numbering 500 in total, in addition to the cruiser Don Juan de Austria, forcing the rebels to retreat to San Nicolas.

Although it was a fleeting victory in the grand scheme of things, Tres de Abril proves that we, especially the underdogs, have the power to change and partly decide our destiny, in our own limited capacity.

We are flawed; we carry many doubts, but as long as our actions match our convictions, the world will bow, however slightly, to our mortal wishes.
