𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: In a thrilling display of mastery and teamwork, two talented teams from the University of San Jose – Recoletos, members of the Le Cercle Culinaire, made their mark at the 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐧 held at The Mactan Newtown on August 8, 2025 — bringing home both the 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫-𝐔𝐩 (TEAM 1) and 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧 (TEAM 2) titles.

With only one hour on the clock to create a main course worthy of three esteemed judges, our Josenian culinarians rose to the challenge with precision, creativity, and the unmistakable flavors inspired by Cebu’s world-famous lechon.

Team 1 impressed with their 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐧ç𝐚𝐥𝐞, a creative fusion of local comfort flavors with a French twist. Team 2 wowed the panel with their bold and flavorful 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚 𝐌𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞, a dish that beautifully married Cebu’s iconic lechon with vibrant Mexican influences.

This back-to-back win is a celebration of skill, unity, and the relentless pursuit of excellence that defines USJ-R and LCC. Competing as two teams but cooking with one heart, they proved that when passion leads the way, success is always on the menu.

Check this updated JCAT Guide to learn how to start your college journey with USJ-R.

The first step to becoming a Josenian is to pass our entrance exam dubbed as JCAT (Josenian College Admission Test). This on-site exam determines if you are qualified to be a bonafide student of the University of San Jose-Recoletos.

After passing it, all you have to do is wait for the enrollment season to come. Enrollment and payments are made online. You can also pay over-the-counter.

JCAT is held every Saturday from February to May 2025 for those who wish to enroll in Academic Year 2025-2026. Additional schedules are available for grabs through the SIS portal ( edp.usjr.edu.ph )
