The first ever ECE Got Talent commenced yesterday 6:00 pm at the USJ-R Lobby along with all the ECE projects exhibited.
The event started with the turnover of theses from the 5th year ECE students to the USJ-R Electronics Engineering Department specifically to Engr. Anthony Jagures, Chairman of the ECE Department. And then the rest was a circus show! A handful of intermission numbers resonated all throughout the lobby. One of the highlights were the performance of Engr. Cristina Sebial and company singing "Zombie" where everyone sang along. And of course where else can you find your professor DJ'ing? Engr. David Lauta III rocked and rolled alongside with the students. To balance the ambiance, Engr. Jonathan Oracoy and Bianca Imperial (IECEP Vice President) sang a a duet that melted everyone's hearts.
A lot of contestants showed a wide araay of talent ranging from singing, beatboxing and dancing. Over and above, the 3rd place was Maroon 2 and the 2nd place went to the L.E.D. Band. The 1st placer was Ruben Lauron who played Canon in D by Pachelbel (rock version) with his electric guitar whilst wearing a mask in which he later removed. Ruben said that "Para nako dili (ko) deserving kay wala nako nahatag akong 100%. Gusto man gud ko nga unique akong i-present ba, kanang gi-praktisan gyud og maayo." Indeed, great things come with great practice. As they say, "If it's easy, it's not ECE".
Kudos electronics engineering department to an amazing show and to your amazing talent!
