The major event co-hosted by our very own organization, the ASEAN Forum, provided us with a space to exchange ideas and reflect on what it means to build an ASEAN that truly puts its people at the heart of its vision.

As students gathered to listen, engage, and exchange ideas, we were reminded that diplomacy begins with dialogue and that meaningful change starts with people coming together.

May these moments inspire us to continue learning, connecting, and taking part in building a more peaceful, inclusive, and people-centered ASEAN. ๐ŸŒ

As we conclude ASEAN Month, we remember the spirit of regional cooperation, diplomacy, and shared responsibility. Through the ASEAN Forum, we sparked conversations about how we can build a truly people-centric ASEAN. While the goal may seem far off, taking the first step now is essential.

The students of the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy were able to learn from distinguished individuals and interact with one another through their shared passion for diplomacy. May this event be a reminder to all of us that we are not alone in our pursuit of a peaceful and harmonious world. Last August 27, the Department of Social Sciences and Philosophy hosted the ASEAN Forum to culminate the end of ASEAN month. We were graced by the presence of ๐‹๐ž๐œ๐ญ. ๐๐ž๐ข๐ฅ ๐‹๐จ๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐ณ๐จ ๐ƒ๐ข๐จ๐ฅ๐š and ๐‚๐จ๐ฎ๐ง๐œ๐ข๐ฅ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐ฒ๐ณ๐š โ€œ๐๐ข๐œ๐žโ€ ๐€๐ซ๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ฏ๐š๐ฅ as they explored topics on ASEAN and Cebuโ€™s role in contributing to ASEAN consciousness.

The event was a joint effort by the student organizations under DSSP, namely: the USJ-R Josenian Junior Diplomats, Josenian Political Science Society, and Societas Philosophiae USJ-R. It was an afternoon filled with advocacy, meaningful discourse, and new insights. The active participation and eagerness of the audience made the even truly a celebration of knowledge and diplomacy.

This National Heroes' Day, we commemorate the unwavering patriotism of Filipino revolutionaries who have courageously fought for our country's independence. It is a day to honor the valor of our national heroes who have battled alongside countless Filipinos who shaped the nationโ€™s history.

We also acknowledge our modern-day Filipino heroes who have dedicated themselves to serving the public. Throughought the hardships they've encountered, their immense hard work and efforts defined their enduring spirit.

As we honor the sacrifices of our heroes who contributed to the Philippinesโ€™ journey as a nation, let this be a reminder to continue their legacy as a community by standing up for what is right, and living out the ideals they fought for.
