Dear SFAS Parents, Guardians, and Students,

In accordance with the public advisory issued by the Office of the City Mayor of Cebu City suspending face-to-face classes at all levels in both public and private schools due to unhealthy air quality conditions in Metro Cebu, St. Francis of Assisi School (SFAS) will suspend all face-to-face classes tomorrow, Monday, October 12, 2026.

To ensure the continuity of learning, all classes will shift to SYNCHRONOUS ONLINE CLASSES. Students are expected to attend their scheduled online classes through the designated learning platforms and follow their regular class schedules.

We also remind everyone to prioritize their health and safety. Students and families are encouraged to stay indoors, keep windows closed when appropriate, and wear N95 or KN95 masks if going outdoors is unavoidable.

Further announcements will be issued should there be any changes or additional directives from the City Government.

Let us continue to pray for the safety and well-being of our entire SFAS family.

Early Dismissal Today at 11:30 AM

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Please be informed that all SFAS students will be dismissed early today, Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11:30 AM. There shall be NO CLASSES in the Nursery level in the afternoon.

This is to allow all faculty and staff members to attend a Fire Safety and Emergency Rescue Seminar conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) at 1:00 PM.

We kindly ask for your cooperation in ensuring the timely pick-up of your children. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

May St. Francis of Assisi guide us in promoting a safe, caring, and responsible school community.

Today, our SFAS students got their hands in the soil and experienced something truly meaningfulβ€”they planted their very own plants. More than just an activity, it was a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature, appreciate the gift of creation, and learn the value of caring for something beyond ourselves.

Each seedling they planted carries a simple but powerful message: growth takes time, care requires commitment, and every little act of stewardship can make a difference.

As our students nurtured their plants today, may they also learn to nurture kindness, responsibility, patience, and love for God’s creation in their own hearts.

Please be informed that SFAS will have regular classes and office operations tomorrow, Monday, September 28, 2026.

While Memorandum Circular No. 136, s. 2026 encourages the private sector to participate in the observance of the 34th National Family Week, the shortened work schedule is mandatory for covered government offices and does not require private schools to suspend operations. Thus, SFAS will exercise its institutional discretion to maintain our regular schedule.

As our way of observing National Family Week, we will celebrate the gift of family right here in SFASβ€”sharing meals, meaningful moments, and the joy of being together as one Franciscan family. ❀️

This year, our SFAS Ravens are taking on three major inter-school leaguesβ€”CYBL, PSDL, and Hoops Kidsβ€”and the journey has been nothing short of challenging.

After suffering our first loss in the Hoops Kids Tournament last week, we came back stronger and earned our FIRST VICTORY! πŸ†πŸ”₯

A loss may slow you down, but it doesn't define you. What matters is how you respond, how you learn, and how you come back.

🌟 Huge shoutout to our Player of the Game, Joeris Igot of Grade 9, for an outstanding performance! And of course, congratulations to the entire team for the grit, teamwork, and heart you showed on the court.

Much appreciation to Coach Dax for guiding and pushing our young Ravens every step of the way.
