On 29 March, 2026 the Salazar Colleges of Science and Institute of Technology Main Campus Reserve Officer Training Corps Unit (SCSITMC-ROTCU) successfully conducted 8th Military Instruction (MI) for this 2nd Semester, the event was attended by the ROTC Commandant LTC HENRY PANG-AY INF PA, and was supervised by the GMA's.
The 8th Military Instruction began early in the morning, with officers and aspirants assembling at 0500H for inspection. This initial activity ensured that all personnel were in proper uniform and prepared for the day ahead. Immediately after, from 0530H to 0700H, the officers and aspirants proceeded with their drill training, focusing on discipline, coordination, and precision.
At 0700H, cadets arrived for their call time, marking the start of their participation in the day’s activities. This was followed by the flag-raising ceremony from 0700H to 0720H, fostering patriotism and unity among the participants. Shortly after, from 0720H to 0740H, cadets underwent inspection to ensure proper appearance and readiness.
The morning continued with basic drills from 0740H to 0850H, where cadets practiced fundamental movements and commands. A short break was given from 0850H to 0900H to allow participants to rest. Training resumed from 0900H to 0930H with a continuation of drills, reinforcing the skills learned earlier.
A longer break followed from 0930H to 1040H, giving everyone time to recover. At 1040H, the session on GAD (Gender and Development) Awareness began, led by Sgt. Devine Grace Gomez PA (RES). This lecture aimed to educate cadets on gender sensitivity and awareness, an important aspect of modern military service. At 1140H, final instructions for dismissal were given, wrapping up the morning session.
Lunch break was observed from 1150H to 1250H, allowing participants to recharge for the afternoon. Cadets reassembled at 1250H for call time, preparing for the next set of activities.
At 1300H, a Basic Life Support 2 session was conducted, with Sgt. Fatima Prudente PA (Res) serving as the primary instructor. This training provided essential knowledge and skills in emergency response and first aid. After a short break from 1400H to 1410H, the cadets resumed with drills and ceremonies from 1410H to 1500H, emphasizing formal movements and discipline.
The training continued with further drilling exercises from 1500H to 1550H, reinforcing coordination and teamwork. Finally, at 1550H, the day concluded with dismissal, marking the end of a full and structured military instruction day.
