Congratulations to our new SMEDucators (Class of 2022) graduates from the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics and Science.

You have proven that difficult roads can often lead us to beautiful destinations. And as for future science and math educators in this country, promoting science consciousness in the community we belong to and igniting the interest and love for science and math teaching is a noble mission for us.

Once again, congratulations on your success, and good luck in your future endeavors. The SMED family is proud to all of you. VAMOS SMEDucators.

CALLING FOR DONATIONS!

Good day, everyone!

We would like to knock on your hearts for a little help.

Our fellow SMEDers, a graduating Carolinian Jon Michael Vincent C. Casaba, had been diagnosed with dengue on April 8, 2022. To this date, his platelet count lowered to 68, which is way below the normal number of platelets expected from a healthy person. With the ongoing pandemic, it had been a challenge to look for a hospital that could cater to his needs with utmost care. Thus, he was admitted late on April 8 to a known hospital in Lapu-Lapu City. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

If you wish to send financial aid to Jon, you may send it through his GCash details:

March 14 is more than just a date!

Today is a special day in Mathematics that is celebrated across the world!

It's Pi Day! It's International Day of Math!

Pi Day is celebrated on March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (“π”) is the symbol used in mathematics to represent a constant — the ratio of the circumference of a circle to its diameter — which is approximately 3.14159.

March 14 has also been declared as the International Day of Mathematics by the International Mathematical Union. It was proclamated by UNESCO on the 40th session of the General Conference, November 26, 2019. The first celebration was held on March 14, 2020.

With the onset of the pandemic, we have witnessed how our fellow countrymen were affected from calamities, demolitions, and flooding, among others. Our fellow Filipinos in the urban poor communities are in need of help. Abag Carolinian holds , where we distribute food packs to urban poor communities this December!

In solidarity with the different university student organizations, let's bring smiles to families in Cebu urban poor communities through food packs made with love this Christmas! Let us remind one another that the real spirit of Christmas is beyond the tradition of gift-giving as we open our hearts for the people who are in need.

Your SMED Family is very proud to you. Congratulations

In his journey as a student leader, Eugene learned that community service is about sharing a collective story that inspires people to move and get going. He was able to attain this insight from his experiences as head of the Bridging the Gap program.

As a passionate education student then, he served as a curriculum developer to two different projects that seek to uplift the quality of education in small communities in Cebu City.
