UP Cebu GAD holds as its fundamental mandate the mainstreaming of gender in teaching, research, and public service. It takes a leading role in engendering the curriculum, publication, and creative work in the University, and in helping transform policy frameworks and programs of government agencies, communities, and institutions to become gender responsive and to promote the rights of women and other marginalized sectors.

GODSPEED AND REST IN PEACE OUR DEAREST NENNEN ESCABILLAS. MAY YOUR MEMORY BE A BLESSING!
I am sad and deeply grieved to know of the sudden passing-on to Eternity of a dearly loved member of the University of the Philippines Cebu community, the late Ms. Nennen Escabillas who served as the administrative staff of the Office of Gender and Development in UP Cebu until her sudden passing-on to Eternity.

When I was the Coordinator of the Office of Gender and Development (GAD) from 2015-2017 and Coordinator of the Office on Anti-Sexual Harassment from 2018-2019, Nennen was my office secretary and administrative staff. She was a very conscientious, diligent, resourceful, and dependable staff who always readily and wholeheartedly assisted me carry my office tasks and duties in both offices of Gender and Development (GAD) and Anti-Sexual Harassment (OASH)...

Rest in peace our dearest Nennen. You have lived well in this earthly life, and you had meaningfully spent your life in service to UP Cebu GAD and OASH offices, to the UP community, and to humanity. May God richly reward you in the Hereafter with His tender mercies and choicest graces. May God give you His perpetual peace. And may your memory be a blessing! Amen, a thousand times Amen. And Blessed Be!
