Authenticity is an act of defiance to the societal norms and a response to what supresses humanity.

For generations, members of the LGBTQ+ community have faced discrimination simply for stepping out of their safe closets and embracing their true selves. This month, we continue to celebrate courage and love as we continue to raise the flag that represents true identity.

Because identity should never be treated as a crisis or a controversy. It is a reflection of the diverse experiences, stories, and connections that make us human. Regardless of our gender, sexuality, or background, we all share the same dignity and the same place in this world.

More than a celebration, pride is a protest—championing the rights, identity, and equal standing of every citizen, all of whom deserve acknowledgement for their contributions to society. It calls on us to amplify the voices of the marginalized and oppressed. This solidarity bridges the LGBTQIA+ community with farmers, laborers, women, and the youth, uniting them in opposition to the prejudice perpetuated by an outdated status quo.

𝗬𝗼𝘂'𝗿𝗲, 𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘀. 𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻? 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽?

There's something really special about watching someone grow into themselves, and that's exactly what we got to witness. Four years ago, you came in curious, a little unsure, full of potential you probably couldn't even see in yourself yet, and the next you're standing at the finish line wondering where the time went. But somewhere in between all of that, you did it. You figured things out. About the world, about people, about what actually matters to you and what you're willing to stand behind. The hard semesters, the times you almost talked yourself out of it, the version of yourself you had to leave behind to become who you are now. It all went so fast and yet somehow it was also exactly long enough.

And now you're almost there, Seniors. A few more hours and this is almost it. Four years of choosing a path that asked you to think deeper, care harder, and never take things at face value, and you did it. The people around you are proud, the ones who pushed you are proud, and you should be proud of yourself too. And when you walk across that stage, know that every single thing you went through to get there was worth it.

Our ka-Polsay Eloisa Mae Nacilla and her family are reaching out for help. Her sister, Ate Lynlyn, is currently battling Acute Myeloid Leukemia, and her platelet count has critically dropped to 18. She is in immediate need of a blood transfusion.
