The Medical Biophysics Group, Center for Tissue Engineering and Biological Soft Materials, University of San Carlos presents its next lecture on "Understanding the Hydration of Cell Membranes."

Our speaker, Dr. Lukasz Piatkowski of Poznan University of Technology, brings extensive expertise in the structure and dynamics of water in biological systems. He received his PhD in Physics from the University of Amsterdam in 2012 and has conducted research at some of the world's leading institutions, including the AMOLF Institute in Amsterdam, the ICFO Institute of Photonic Sciences in Barcelona, and the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw. He currently leads his own research team at the Institute of Physics at Poznan University of Technology and has authored over 50 articles in scientific journals, including publications in Nature Chemistry, Nature Communications, and the Journal of the American Chemical Society.

We welcome students, faculty, and researchers to attend this exciting lecture.

Prof. Dr. Astrid Bakker delivered an insightful talk on "Hormones affecting bone cell mechanosensitivity," while Dr. Stephen Flores presented on "Exploring Soft Matter through Surfactant Rheology and Self-Assembly."

The 3rd USC-VSU Biophysics Symposium featured a live virtual presentation from Prof. Dr. Shingo Matsukawa of Tokyo University of Marine Science & Technology. He's shared his research on "Physical properties of mixed carrageenan solutions from the structural scale down to the molecular level" at the VSU RDE Hall in Baybay City, Leyte.
