The University of Southern Philippines Foundation congratulates our faculty members Mr. Joev Keir M. Lebumfacil (SHS Lahug) and Ms. Hazel Mae L. Cabalida (JHS Lahug) on earning the Best Research Paper Award at the Recoletos Graduate Research Conference (RGRC) 2026.

Presented under Track 1: Education, Learning Innovation, and Human Development for Inclusive Futures, the inter-institutional collaborative research with USJ-R’s Mr. Nikko C. Catarina titled, "Awareness and Stigma as Predictors of Senior High School Students’ Acceptance of Biotechnology Products,” was recognized for research excellence as it explores how student awareness and social stigma shape how students feel about biotechnology products.

Guided by the theme “From Knowledge to Impact: Bridging Innovation, Sustainability, and Community,” RGRC 2026 invited graduate students, researchers, scientists, industry practitioners, government stakeholders, and R&D partners across 7 research tracks to join in bridging ideas, innovation, and action for a resilient future.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 7 - Central Visayas (DSWD7) conducted the Research & Knowledge Exchange 2026 at the University of Southern Philippines Foundation to promote evidence-based decision-making and strengthen research-driven social protection initiatives.

Social work students from USPF and the UC, representatives of partner agencies, and social protection advocates from various sectors, underscoring the importance of collaboration among academic institutions, government agencies, and community stakeholders in advancing inclusive and responsive social welfare programs, attended the activity.

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation College of Health Sciences Department of Nursing joins the nation in celebrating Philippine Nurses’ Week 2026, recognizing the vital role of nurses in promoting health, caring for the sick, and saving lives.

In honor of the dedication, compassion, resilience, and invaluable contributions of nurses to healthcare and society, the College of Health Sciences Department of Nursing scheduled four days of meaningful activities for October 26 to 29, 2026, guided by the theme “Our Nurses, Our Future – Empowered Nurses Save Lives.”

The Pharisees went off
and plotted how they might entrap Jesus in speech.

"Teacher, we know that you are a truthful man
and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth.
And you are not concerned with anyone's opinion,
for you do not regard a person's status.
Tell us, then, what is your opinion:
Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar or not?"
Knowing their malice, Jesus said,
"Why are you testing me, you hypocrites?
Show me the coin that pays the census tax."
Then they handed him the Roman coin.
He said to them, "Whose image is this and whose inscription?"
They replied, "Caesar's."
At that he said to them,
"Then repay to Caesar what belongs to Caesar
and to God what belongs to God."

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation College of Social Work actively participated and presented research studies during the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 7 - Central Visayas’ Research & Knowledge Exchange Symposium 2026.

Bridging the gap between research and real-world impact, USPF is a proud official school partner of DSWD through its Social Welfare and Development Learning Network (SWDL-Net), to ensure community programs and policies are backed by solid evidence. By combining academic expertise with on-the-ground needs, we’re making sure support goes exactly where it matters most and truly benefitting the people who need help.

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation National Service Reserve Corps will be conducting the NSTP Disaster Preparedness Hands-on Training to equip volunteers with the knowledge and confidence needed to respond effectively during emergencies.

Rescue 177 Corps of Instructors Mobile Team will facilitate the training on October 18, 2026 (Sunday), at the USPF Lahug Campus. Participants will be taught practical, hands-on emergency response drills, proper rescue techniques and first aid skills, and team coordination and emergency situation management.
