CLASS SUSPENSION ADVISORY
September 3, 2026

In light of the September 2, 2026 announcement of Cebu City Mayor Nestor Archival suspending classes at all levels due to “Very Unhealthy” air quality (AQI 208), the University of Southern Philippines Foundation suspends all face-to-face classes for the Basic Education Department of both Lahug and Mabini Campuses and the Tertiary Levels on September 3, 2026.

Classes will shift to asynchronous learning. Please check your respective class GCs for further instructions.

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation started Founder’s Day 2026 celebrations with the memorial mass and floral offering in honor of the 138th birth anniversary of Don Agustin Jereza at the Cebu Memorial Park.

A Founder’s Day Tribute followed at the USPF Theater for the Performing Arts. Setting the tone for the tribute with her inspiring opening remarks was University President Dr. Amelia Biglete. Board of Trustee Mr. Archibald Villa, grandson of Don Agustin Jereza, delivered a moving tribute that highlighted the founder's exceptional contributions and enduring legacy. Bringing an extra wave of energy to the Tribute were musical and dance performances by Huni Habagat and the Bidlisiw Dance Troupe, respectively. VPAFHR Ms. Girlie Canazares wrapped up the Tribute with a call for shared responsibility for the USPian community to protect and continue the legacy of Don Agustin Jereza.

The University of Southern Philippines Foundation congratulates the USPF Panthers on starting CESAFI Season 26 strong with an impressive win against the UCLM Webmasters, 81–76, in the opening game of college basketball on August 29, 2026 (Saturday).

A resounding roar for Peter Jhon Peteros, who led the USPF Panthers with 22 points and four rebounds, clinching a sweet victory over the Webmasters. USPFpride
