22 August 2026 | 1st Military Instruction
On 22 August 2026, the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Reserve Officersโ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit conducted its first Military Instruction for the First Semester of Academic Year 2026โ2027. The activity officially commenced at 0750H, where the cadets were guided to their units and given instructions on the subject school of soldiers without arms. The training focused on developing proper bearing, discipline, coordination, and familiarity with basic military movements and commands. The cadets demonstrated attentiveness and discipline as they carried out the prescribed movements and exercises under the guidance of the officers.
At around 0940H, the ROTC cadets made their way to the Auditorium, and once everything was settled, they were welcomed to the USJ-R DMST ROTC by Tactical NCO, MSg Romulo Sevilla Jr PA (RES), who also introduced several key personnel of the ROTC Unit. First up was Admin NCO, TSg Joji C. Baga (INF) PA, who formally addressed the cadets and shared an overview of the Mission of the 701ST Community Defense Center (CDC), 7th Regional Community Defense Group (RCDG), Reserve Command (RESCOM). This was followed by Cpl Jonathan V. Saso PA (Res), Tactical NCO, who shared his experience and knowledge, offering valuable insights into the cadetsโ training and responsibilities. MSg Romulo Sevilla Jr PA (RES) also introduced the Training Staff, Graduate Military Assistants (GMAs), First Class Officers, and Second Class Officers, helping the cadets get to know the people who would guide, supervise, and support them throughout their military instriction.
The session went on with the ROTC orientation led by MSg Romulo P. Sevilla Jr PA (RES), who shared essential knowledge and concepts for the cadetsโ training. The cadets remained attentive and engaged, gaining a clearer understanding of ROTC history, the Armed Forces of the Philippinesโ organization, courtesy and discipline, as well as their roles and responsibilities as members of the USJ-R ROTC Unit.
The instruction wrapped up at 1200H, and the cadets were officially dismissed. The first Military Instruction marked a meaningful start to the training cycle, giving the cadets a chance to build on their discipline, knowledge, and military bearing. It also laid a solid foundation for the upcoming Military Instructions and activities of the USJ-R ROTC Unit.
