27 April 2026 | NUSTAR Fili Hotel

The University of San Jose–Recoletos Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit rendered honor guard duties during the Oath Taking of Newly Licensed Physicians 2026 held at NUSTAR Fili Hotel. The cadets stood in formation and provided honors as the new physicians took their oath, marking their entry into the medical profession in the presence of their families, mentors, and guests.

Under the supervision of the commandant and ROTC staff, the officers carried out their tasks with proper bearing and coordination, helping maintain order and respect throughout the ceremony. Their presence added formality to the event while showing discipline and adherence to military customs.

The activity allowed the cadets to take part in an important professional milestone and strengthened their sense of responsibility in supporting public events. Through their participation, the ROTC unit continued to serve not only within the campus but also in the wider community.

𝗔𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡

Please be informed that the USJ-R ROTC Unit will be conducting its Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) on 02 May 2026 at the USJ-R Basak Campus, Basak Pardo, Cebu City.
As part of this activity, a Platoon Raid will be carried out, which will involve the use of controlled explosives. These are strictly part of a planned and supervised training exercise conducted by authorized personnel.

The activity will be confined within the school premises, and all necessary safety protocols will be strictly implemented to ensure everyone’s safety.

We respectfully ask all personnel and nearby individuals to remain calm, avoid unnecessary alarm, and follow all instructions from authorities at all times.

24 April 2026 | Funeral of Rev. Fr. William Emilito C. Villaflor, OAR

The University of San Jose–Recoletos Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit officers rendered service during the funeral of the late Rev. Fr. William Emilito C. Villaflor, OAR, Vice President for Administration. The ROTC officers assisted in maintaining order and paid their final respects as the university community gathered to honor his life and service. The ceremony reflected the loss felt by the Josenian community and the recognition of his contributions to the institution.

Under the supervision of Commandant MAJ BRYAN C MANINGO PA (RES), together with Tactical NCO PFC Jonathan V Saso PA (Res), the ROTC officers carried out their duties with proper bearing and respect throughout the proceedings. Their presence helped preserve the solemnity of the occasion and showed discipline in honoring a respected member of the university.

Through this service, the ROTC officers took part in a moment of remembrance and reflection. The activity strengthened their sense of duty and respect for those who have served the institution, while continuing to uphold the values expected of them as members of the ROTC unit.

The University of San Jose–Recoletos Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) Unit proudly rendered Honor Guard duties during the National Conference on Catechesis and Religious Education, demonstrating professionalism, discipline, and respect throughout the formal proceedings of the event.

Supervised by MSg Romulo P Sevilla Jr PA (Res), the cadets carried out their ceremonial roles with precision, proper bearing, and coordination, upholding the dignity and solemnity of the occasion. Their presence reflected the ROTC’s commitment to excellence while supporting an event centered on faith formation, values education, and spiritual growth.

The activity served as a meaningful opportunity for the cadets to apply military discipline in a formal and faith-oriented setting, reinforcing the values of honor, service, and integrity as they continue to grow as responsible and well-rounded future leaders.

On April 23, 2026, the University of San Jose–Recoletos ROTC Unit Officers rendered the Entrance of Colors during the 3rd Visayas TVET Conference held at the Summit Galleria Hotel in Cebu City.

With the theme, “Building Resilient Skills Ecosystems in the Visayas Regions through Quality and Industry-Responsive TVET,” the event brought together stakeholders committed to advancing technical and vocational education in the region.

Adding cultural depth to the program, the Adelante Dance Troupe, composed of ROTC Unit alumni, delivered a vibrant performance that showcased the richness of Visayan culture.
