This documentary reminds us that disability does not limit potential — lack of opportunity does. Through Occupational Therapy, barriers are reduced, workplaces become more inclusive, and individuals are empowered to engage in meaningful work. When we support working PWDs, we don't just uplift individuals — we strengthen the whole community.
Participation is a right, and inclusion is everyone's responsibility. This initiative is grounded in Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR), which promotes inclusion, equal opportunities, and active participation of persons with disabilities within their own communities. CBR highlights collaboration among families, professionals, local government units, and community stakeholders to ensure sustainable and meaningful change.
As OT 4 interns of SWU-PHINMA, we are grateful that our institution strongly emphasizes community engagement and CBR practice by providing us with opportunities to immerse in real-life community settings. These experiences allow us to advocate for inclusive workplaces and empower PWDs to participate in meaningful occupations.
