Today, we commemorate the 𝟭𝟮𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆, remembering the Filipinos whose courage, sacrifices, and love for our country helped shape the freedom we experience today. Their legacy reminds us that heroism is not limited to the extraordinary—it can be found in the courage to stand for what is right, to serve others, and to put the welfare of our nation above oneself.

As students and future educators, may we carry their legacy forward through the way we learn, lead, and serve. Let us honor our heroes not only by remembering their stories, but by embodying the values they stood for—integrity, compassion, courage, and service. May we continue building a nation worthy of their sacrifices, one act of service and one generation at a time.

Today, we commemorate the life and legacy of 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼 "𝗡𝗶𝗻𝗼𝘆" 𝗔𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗝𝗿., whose patriotism and unwavering love for the Filipino people remain an enduring inspiration.

His sacrifice reminds us of the true meaning of service and the responsibility we carry in shaping a nation founded on 𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙤𝙘𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙮, 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣.

𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲, 𝗢𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁 | Cebu Provincial Charter Day

On August 6, the entire Province of Cebu comes together to commemorate its 𝟰𝟱𝟳𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗮𝗿𝘆 and official 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗮𝘆 as a special non-working holiday under Republic Act No. 8952. Tracing its roots back to August 6, 1569, when Miguel López de Legazpi was appointed as governor, Cebu proudly holds the distinction of being the oldest provincial government in the Philippines. From local communities to major cities across the province, this milestone highlights Cebu’s foundational role in the political, cultural, and historical development of our nation.

Beyond remembering history, this special day calls on us to reignite the enduring strength, rich heritage, and vibrant unity of every Cebuano. As we look back on centuries of achievements, we are inspired to channel our collective resilience into driving meaningful progress for our communities today. May this Charter Day rekindle our shared pride and passion to keep moving forward as one strong, empowered Sugbo.
