ANNOUNCEMENT | CNU Women’s Basketball tryouts

Cebu Normal University (CNU) is inviting interested female students to try out for the university’s Women’s Basketball Team on October 2.

The tryout will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the CNU Basketball Court.

Interested students may participate in the tryout to be considered for the university’s women’s basketball team and represent CNU in the State Colleges and Universities Athletic Association.

LOOK | PRISM Ed website goes live, opens call for submissions

The Philippine Research in Science and Mathematics Education (PRISM Ed) has launched its official website and opened the Call for Submissions for its inaugural issue.

The initiative is led by the Department of Science and Technology–Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) in partnership with the National Consortium in Graduate Science and Mathematics Education (NCGSME), of which Cebu Normal University (CNU) is a member institution.

PRISM Ed serves as the official journal of the Capacity Building Program in Science and Mathematics Education (CBPSME), providing a platform for research and scholarly work in science and mathematics education.

The PRISM Ed website is now live at prismedjournal.org, where CBPSME scholars from CNU may submit their original research papers through the online submission portal.

The launch provides CBPSME scholars an avenue to share their research and contribute to the advancement of science and mathematics education in the Philippines.

| CNU-ILS student bags bronze in reg’l taekwondo tilt

Cebu Normal University–Integrated Laboratory School (CNU-ILS) Grade 3 student Natsu Nate Roncesvalles secured a bronze medal at the 2026 SMART-MVPSF Regional Interschool Taekwondo Championships last week.

Roncesvalles battled 16 competitors in his division and fought through a closely contested match to secure a podium finish on September 13.

He also successfully defended his No. 1 regional ranking, retaining his spot as the top-ranked player in the region.

Congratulations, Natsu, on this impressive feat! Padayon!

| 6 CNU graduates land in PMLE top 10; university posts 100% passing rate

Cebu Normal University (CNU) produced six topnotchers in the September 2026 Psychometrician Licensure Examination (PMLE), with its graduates placing among the country’s highest-performing examinees.

Noemae Rama Rojas led the CNU examinees after securing 8th place with a rating of 92.80%.

Also placing in the top 10 were Amanda Hailey Davocol Camay and Kathlene Mary Fortuna Petallar, who tied for 9th place with 92.60%.

Moreover, Therese Angelique Sarausad, Marianne Faye Secretaria Trimidal, and Shanna Adriane Jucotmaya Valencia shared 10th place with a rating of 92.40%.

Adding to the university’s achievement, CNU posted a 100% passing rate in the September 2026 PMLE.

LOOK | CNU SAS reviews student manual for responsive, inclusive policies

To ensure that the student manual of Cebu Normal University (CNU) is responsive to students' needs, student representatives and select coordinators of the Student Affairs Services (SAS) across colleges convene at the Tandang Sora Hall for the two-day consultation starting today.

Aimed at strengthening student support, the consultation is in line with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 18, series of 2026, on Inclusive and Comprehensive Policies and Guidelines on Student Affairs and Services.

LOOK | Faculty, staff unite for CNU Sports Day

Faculty members and non-teaching personnel from Cebu Normal University’s main, external and extension campuses converged at the Samuel MacClintock Hall today for the kickoff of CNU Sports Day.

The participants will compete in four categories—badminton, pickleball, e-sports, and Laro ng Lahi—as part of the activities marking the 126th Civil Service Month themed, “Puso, Dangal, at Galing para sa Bayan.”

LOOK | CNU graduate studies faculty undergo curriculum capdev

To ensure that its graduate programs remain responsive and relevant to the evolving needs of learners, industries, and communities, Cebu Normal University (CNU) graduate studies faculty members from various colleges were convened for a capacity-building workshop today at the Samuel MacClintock (SM) Hall.

Titled “Reimagining the Graduate Education Curriculum, Innovative Instructional Delivery, and Extension Engagement,” the training workshop focused on assessing the university’s graduate program offerings for compliance with relevant Commission on Higher Education (CHED) policies, standards, and guidelines.
