English Fellows Organization - the biggest living organization yet of Cebu Normal University - is an association created for all the students enrolled in an English-concentrated degree program of the said institution. Bustamante, has almost eight hundred members enrolled in the College of Teacher Education with a degree program Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English, also in the College

of Arts and Sciences with the degree programs Bachelor of Arts Major in English Language and Bachelor of Arts Major in English Literature. The organization celebrates its month-long activities every February of the year.

“𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗴𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂: 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗵𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.” 🎗️💛

Even in his final moments, 𝘽𝙚𝙣𝙞𝙜𝙣𝙤 “𝙉𝙞𝙣𝙤𝙮” 𝘼𝙦𝙪𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙅𝙧. stood firmly by the principles he believed in. His assassination on 𝖠𝗎𝗀𝗎𝗌𝗍 21, 1983, did not silence him—it awakened a nation.

From his sacrifice rose a renewed spirit of courage among Filipinos, inspiring a movement that would challenge authoritarian rule and fight to reclaim the democratic rights and freedoms of the people. His conviction that “𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙤 𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝 𝙙𝙮𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙛𝙤𝙧” became more than a statement—it became a testament to the depth of his love for the country and its people.

Ninoy’s life reminds us that courage is not the absence of fear, but the strength to stand for what is right even when the cost is immense. His death became a turning point in Philippine history, proving that one life devoted to truth, freedom, and service can ignite the courage of millions.

Buwan ng Wika is far from over—and neither is our invitation to return to the literature that has carried Filipino voices across generations.

Because literature is never truly left behind. A story may have been written decades ago, a poem may have crossed generations, but its questions can still find their way into our classrooms, conversations, and lives. In every work we encounter, we rediscover not only an author, but a fragment of how Filipinos have loved, struggled, dreamed, remembered, and understood the world.🌌

As the familiar reminder goes, “𝐀𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐚𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭 𝐩𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐡𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬𝐝𝐚.”—a line widely attributed to 𝐉𝐨𝐬é 𝐑𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐥, though its authorship is historically disputed.✊🏻

𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙘𝙚𝙧𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙮. 𝙎𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙨, 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙬𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙘𝙖𝙢𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙚. 🍀

Now, as we are stepping into another academic year, starting again does not necessarily mean leaving the past behind. It could mean carrying things differently—taking lessons, mistakes, memories, and even things we wish had gone another way, and letting them shape where we go next.

In his June 17, 1963 letter to Mary Willis Shelburne, 𝐂.𝐒. 𝐋𝐞𝐰𝐢𝐬 wrote,

“𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐰𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝.”

This quote was originally written by C.S. Lewis in a letter to comfort his friend, Mary Willis Shelburne, as she faced what she thought to be the end of her life. The full sentence from the letter is: "Has this world been so kind to you that you should leave it with regret? There are better things ahead than any we leave behind."

Taken out of context, this quote has taken on new meanings over the years—but its initial message reminds us that hope is often born in moments of uncertainty.

What might seem like a simple reminder about starting anew. And perhaps that is what makes the words worth coming back to: hope does not always come from knowing what lies ahead. It may also come from choosing to believe there is still something ahead worth living for.

𝐈𝐍 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐒: A new chapter does not ask you to forget the pages before it. It simply asks you to keep reading. 🥸

𝗖𝗲𝗯𝘂 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 – 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗖𝗡𝗨-𝗘𝗙𝗢) conducted its 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗹𝘆 on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 𝟭:𝟬𝟱 𝗣.𝗠. 𝘁𝗼 𝟮:𝟰𝟳 𝗣.𝗠., bringing together the organization’s officers and bloc chairpersons to discuss important matters for Academic Year 2026–2027. The assembly was conducted via 𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗴𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 (𝗚𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁), allowing members to participate and engage virtually.

🙌 The assembly covered the organization’s 𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗲𝗲, 𝗘𝗙 𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲, and other matters concerning the organization and its constituents.

📅 Among the activities discussed were the much-awaited 𝗘𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆 and the 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗢𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲𝘀 (𝗘𝗦𝗢𝗟) celebration, alongside other initiatives lined up for the academic year.

💳 For membership, fees were announced at ₱𝟭𝟬𝟬 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗧𝗘 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 and ₱𝟱𝟬 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗖𝗔𝗦 𝘀𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕. 🤝

This very moment of the day, we celebrate 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 with the official United Nations theme, "𝑫𝒊𝒇𝒇𝒆𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑪𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒙𝒕𝒔, 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒏 𝑨𝒔𝒑𝒊𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔."

From across borders, we honor the presence of our youth who share the same sentiments, dreams, and aspirations as essential partners of today’s global society. 🌏

We recognize them as 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀, 𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, and 𝗯𝗼𝗱𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Yet as systemic challenges rapidly occur, today also serves as a bridge to connect them from across countries so they can share stories and help each other in ways that extend powerfully and meaningfully to our global situation.

And so, in the spirit of listening to the voices of the youth, we invited some student leaders from 𝐂𝐞𝐛𝐮 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 to pause, reflect, and look beyond themselves:

“𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒅𝒐𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒍𝒅 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒏𝒐𝒘?”
Drawing on their experiences, hopes, and perspectives, each leader offered a word that represents something they believe the world needs most. These reflections remind us that leadership can sometimes, and significantly, mean the beginning of the courage to recognize what is needed and the utmost willingness to become part of “𝒉𝒐𝒘?”
Truly, 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒊𝒔 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕, as they shape the world we live in today. They 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒇𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆, as they will carry the torch of tomorrow. And they 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕, as they carry forward the dreams, lessons, and hopes entrusted to them by those who came before. 💡

𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗬 𝗜𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗧𝗛 𝗗𝗔𝗬! 👭👬👫
