Our 3rd-year BSMT and BSMarE students attended the OBT First Orientation and Seminar Concerning Onboard Training Requirements at the Inday Pining Teatro, 2nd Floor, Josefina Building, University of the Visayas โ€“ Main Campus. The session was conducted by our Onboard Training Supervisor, 3/E Emmanuel O. Dumloan, who provided in-depth guidance on mandatory training documentation, clearance procedures, and institutional requirements.

The briefing focused on vital standards for pre-boarding compliance and professional shipboard discipline, ensuring prospective deck and engine cadets are thoroughly prepared for deployment. With these guidelines clearly outlined, our future maritime officers are now officially one step closer to embarking on their sea service.

CHARTING CAREERS | NSUMP Inc. Visits UV-COME for Cadet Selection & Campus Tour โš“๏ธ

On October 8, 2026, the University of the Visayas โ€“ College of Maritime Education welcomed representatives from NS United Marine Philippines (NSUMP Inc.) for a crucial selection interview and comprehensive campus tour.

Following a courtesy call with Dean Dr. Robert M. Maluya and faculty members, the delegation interviewed eight qualifying cadets composed of four (4) deck cadets (BSMT) and four (4) engine cadets (BSMarE) eyeing opportunities at sea. This was followed by an inspection of UV-COME's maritime training facilities and laboratories.

UV-COME extends its sincere gratitude to the NSUMP Inc. delegation for their continued trust and partnership in shaping globally competitive Filipino seafarers. Fair winds to our aspiring cadets as they await their results! ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿšข
