Join us for a discussion of Walter Benjaminโ€™s The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction, Mao Zedongโ€™s Talks at the Yenan Forum on Literature and Art, and Alice Guillermoโ€™s Mao Zedongโ€™s Revolutionary Aesthetics and Its Influence on the Philippine Struggle.

Through these works, we will explore the intersections of art, politics, technology, and revolutionary practice. From challenging the idea of art for artโ€™s sake to examining cinema as a defining feature of modern life, art exhibitions as social spaces, and art as a technology of vision, the discussion will also open up possibilities for new media as a means of resisting right-wing populism.
