FEATURE |The ‘What-Ifs’ before the Win: Marc Andre Saberon’s Journey to the Top

Before becoming one of the country’s Top 1 LET passers, Marc Andre C. Saberon first battled something unseen by many — self-doubt. Behind the impressive 95.00% rating was a review season filled with exhaustion, pressure, comparisons, and endless questions about whether he was truly doing enough to succeed.

“There were so many ‘what-ifs.’ I kept comparing myself to others and wondering if I was studying enough. It was mentally exhausting,” Marc admitted.

Despite the anxiety, the CTU Danao graduate pushed himself to continue, studying until he felt completely drained while holding on to one guiding reminder: “Do everything humanly possible, and then surrender the rest to God.”

Now standing among the highest-ranking examinees in the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LEPT), Marc hopes his story will inspire others who are silently fighting their own battles with fear and uncertainty.

“I want to be a living example that an ordinary person can reach extraordinary heights,” he said.

FEATURE I Delayed but Destined: The Journey of CTU Danao’s Top 1 LET Passer

She almost did not get to take the exam she had long prepared for. Just days before the September 2025 Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), unexpected issues with her PSA documents stopped Jhade Vine Icot from taking the test — a heartbreaking setback that could have ended her dream of becoming a teacher.

But Jhade chose not to give up. Instead, the CTU Danao graduate continued reviewing, trusting the process despite uncertainty, exhaustion, and self-doubt.

“Despite the uncertainty of whether I would be able to take the exam, I continued reviewing and preparing,” she shared.

Months later, what once felt like a painful delay became the turning point that led her to become one of the Top 1 passers in the March 2026 LET Elementary Level.

“I realized that when things do not go according to my plans, it does not mean that my dreams are being taken away from me. Rather, it may be part of a better path meant for me,” Jhade reflected.

From almost missing the exam to standing at the top, her journey is a powerful reminder that some setbacks are not meant to stop us — they are meant to redirect us toward something greater.

FEATURE I Beyond the Dream: How Lynn Heart M. Luad Became the Top 1 Passer in the March 2026 LET

“Up until now, it still feels like a dream I once never dared to dream.”

Behind Lynn Heart’s remarkable achievement is a story of resilience, faith, sacrifice, and perseverance. From battling self-doubt and financial struggles to earning the highest spot in one of the country’s most prestigious professional examinations, her journey proves that even the dreams we hesitate to imagine can become reality.

“Being doubtful and uncertain is totally normal. What you feel is valid.”

More than personal success, Lynn Heart shares that her achievement was shaped by the people and experiences that guided her along the way—her family, friends, mentors, and unwavering faith.

“This success is the product not only of myself, but of the people and experiences that shaped me.”

GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT | Vietnam’s BETU to host guest lecturer from CTU Tuburan

Dr. Angen May Charcos is set to deliver a lecture at Binh Duong Economics and Technology University (BETU) on July 10, ahead of her participation in the International Conference on Economics and Technology Sustainability 2026 on July 11 in Bình Dương Province, Vietnam.

With academic presence that particularize language studies, the Cebu Technological University (CTU) Tuburan associate professor is ready to share her expertise with Vietnamese students this time at CTU’s third institutional partner in the country.

Speaking to Internationalization and ASEAN Integration Director Dr. Rhodora Magan, she said slowing down is not part of her agenda when it comes to international positionality.

Following her online lecture with Indonesian students last year, Dr. Charcos now adds Vietnam to her growing portfolio of academic spaces, further setting a record of sustained collaboration across CTU’s global network.

As part of her scholarly projection, she hopes to act upon the onsite lectureship at CTU’s first partner in Mexico—Universidad de Cristobal Colon—next year./IAI
