LOOK | Barangay Pusok Sitio Collaborators Strengthen Document Processing Skills Through CTU Extension Initiative

To strengthen digital competencies among sitio collaborators, Cebu Technological University–Main Campus, through its College of Computer, Information and Communications Technology (CCICT), successfully concluded the Productivity Software Proficiency: Document Processing project for Barangay Pusok, Lapu‑Lapu City yesterday, September 25.

This initiative, the second phase of the Productivity Software Proficiency for Sitio Collaborators extension program launched in 2024, sought to advance digital proficiency among sitio collaborators by enhancing their document processing skills.

CTU MAIN ADVISORY | Classes shift online; Afternoon classes, work suspended on Sept. 28

Cebu Technological University–Main Campus will shift to online/synchronous classes on Monday morning, September 28, 2026.

All classes and work at the Main Campus will be suspended in the afternoon in observance of Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day, pursuant to Malacañang Memorandum Circular No. 136.

The half-day suspension starts at 1:00 p.m. to allow employees and their families to observe the 34th National Family Week.

The observance is pursuant to Proclamation No. 60 (1992), which declares the last week of September as Family Week, and Proclamation No. 326 (2012), which designates the fourth Monday of September as Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day.

CTU Main encourages its community to observe the occasion by spending meaningful time with their families.

LOOK | CTU–Main completes 2026 Internal Quality Audit

Cebu Technological University (CTU)–Main Campus completed its 2026 Internal Quality Audit (IQA) on September 23, following three days of assessment under the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System (QMS) standards.

Following the assessment, the IQA Team consolidated the audit findings and finalized the necessary reports, documents, and records. It was led by IQA Team Leader Dr. Rose Mary L. Almacen and Co-Team Leader Dr. Eingilbert C. Benolirao, together with the members of the audit team.

As part of the audit, the team assessed the CTU–Main Campus and its extension campuses in Naga, Dumanjug, and San Fernando for compliance with the university’s QMS and applicable ISO 9001:2015 requirements.

The completion of the audit reinforces CTU–Main Campus’ continuing efforts to strengthen its quality management system, maintain compliance with established standards, and promote continuous improvement in university operations and services.

JUST IN | CTU produces 2 topnotchers in September 2026 PMLE

Cebu Technological University (CTU) proudly celebrates another milestone as two graduates from CTU Main Campus emerged as topnotchers in the September 2026 Psychometrician Licensure Exam (PMLE).

Christel Joyce Coronel Cayme ranked 8th with a 92.80 percent rating, while Red Patindol Flores secured 9th place with a 92.60 percent rating.

In recognition of their achievement, CTU will grant Cayme and Flores cash incentives of ₱80,000 each for placing 8th and 9th in the 2026 PMLE.

LOOK | CTU Main engages parents in youth mental health, su***de prevention

Cebu Technological University (CTU)–Main Campus strengthened its partnership with parents in promoting youth mental health and su***de prevention through a parent-engagement program conducted by the Guidance Services Center–Day Program on September 19.

Held in collaboration with the Student Affairs and Services (SAS), the program, titled “Race to Save Lives: Stronger Together: Parent Engagement for Youth Mental Health and Su***de Prevention,” brought together parents and guardians of Day Program freshmen to raise awareness of the challenges students may face as they transition into college life.

The activity emphasized the role of families in recognizing mental health concerns, maintaining open communication, and providing timely support to students.

Following his arrival in Canada, Dr. Robert Jay Angco has met with his University of Quebec in Montreal (UQAM) research supervisor Dr. Doris Jeannotte.

Dr. Angco is drawing from the expertise of the Mathematics Department professor for his study, “Cross-Cultural Analysis of Statistical Literacy Curriculum and Assessment in Higher Education: A Philippine-Quebec Comparative Study.”

The third installment of the Aalen University-Cebu Technological University international summer school recently concluded.

Prof. Christian Koot did eight lectures in two weeks with College of Computing and Information Technology students.
The fora focalized core concepts and tools of inferential statistics.

Dr. Koot also completed faculty consultations for an upcoming research collaboration.

His instrumentality in initiating the alliance in November of last year now breeds multiple collaborations.

LOOK | Canada’s UQAM hosts Danao ASEAN-SEED scholar

Danao campus instructor Romelito Bayno Jr. has officially started his research work in Canada, under the 2026–2027 Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development-Phase 2 (SEED-2) Program.

Following results on June 13th, Bayno, alongside three others from Cebu Technological University, is hosted by the institution’s long-time ally Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM).

The College of Technology faculty member is receiving a grant worth C$10,200 (approximately ₱420,000) for visa processing fees, round-trip international airfare, health insurance, accommodation, utilities, meals, domestic transportation, books, academic supplies, and other living and study-related expenses throughout the semester-long stay at UQAM.

Funded by the Canadian government, the program primarily supports innovation, research collaboration, and institutional partnerships among higher education institutions across ASEAN and Canada.

LOOK | CTU, Mandaue City sign Deed of Usufruct for proposed CTU–Mandaue Campus

Cebu Technological University (CTU) and the City Government of Mandaue have formalized an agreement that advances the establishment of the proposed CTU–Mandaue Campus, marking a significant milestone in the university’s efforts to expand access to higher education.

The two institutions signed a Deed of Usufruct covering a 2,000-square-meter portion of Lot No. 2 in Barangay Looc, Mandaue City, during a ceremony held at Mandaue City Hall.

The agreement allows CTU to use the property for the proposed CTU–Mandaue Campus.

Representing the City Government of Mandaue were City Mayor Hon. Thadeo Jovito M. Ouano, Mandaue City College President Dr. Joey U. Rivamonte, and other city officials.

Representing CTU were Dr. Jonita V. Literatus, OIC University President; Atty. Christian T. Bacus, Attorney III; Engr. Alex C. Mayor, Jr., University Director for Planning & Development; Arch. Leo Edwin Mutia, Planning Officer; and Ms. Nikki Lou Sonsona Bagolor, Legal Assistant II.

The proposed CTU–Mandaue Campus is envisioned to broaden access to higher education and provide advanced professional and technical instruction and training in fields aligned with CTU’s mandate under Republic Act No. 9744, the law establishing CTU as a state university.

The agreement reflects the shared commitment of CTU and Mandaue City government to bring accessible and relevant higher education closer to communities while maximizing public resources for education and development.

LOOK | CTU Tuburan undergoes AACCUP Level II Revisit for BSME program

Cebu Technological University–Tuburan Campus is undergoing an accreditation survey visit by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) from September 21 to 25, 2026, as part of the university’s continuing efforts to uphold academic quality and strengthen program improvement.

The five-day accreditation activity focuses on the Level II Revisit of all areas of the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) program to assess its compliance with established quality standards.

The opening program was led by the University Quality Assurance Office, headed by Dr. Meralei J. Lawas, and attended by Tuburan Campus Director Dr. Ma. Carla Y. Abaquita and OIC–University President Dr. Jonita V. Literatus, represented by Dr. Reylan G. Capuno, Vice President for Academic Affairs. University and campus officials, quality assurance personnel, and members of the AACCUP Survey Team also attended the program.

The AACCUP Survey Team is led by Dr. June Raymond L. Mariano of the Technological University of the Philippines (TUP). Engr. Robert Michael B. Corpus of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP) serves as lead accreditor, while Prof. Wilma L. Kultz represents Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU).
