Southwestern University PHINMA Alumni and Corporate Engagement office, through the School of Medicine, recently held the SWU Medical Alumni Association (SWUMAA) - USA Medical Foundation Financial Assistance Awarding Ceremony for the first semester of Academic Year 2026–2027.

The initiative provides financial assistance to Chairman’s Scholars and Post-Graduate Interns of the School of Medicine, supporting them in their continued pursuit of excellence in medical education and service.

Joining us virtually were our generous benefactors from the SWUMAA USA Medical Foundation, led by Dr. Leonardo Malalis, President, together with Dr. Jane Malalis; Dr. Jaime Basnillo and Dr. Marietta Basnillo; Dr. Dominador Dayon and Dr. Praxedes Dayon; Dr. Aurorita Dayon; Dr. Benita Kiamco and Engr. The SWU PHINMA Alumni and Corporate Engagement (ACE) Office participated in a medical mission conducted on September 13, 2026, in Barangay Sabang, Danao City, in collaboration with the Local Government Unit of Danao City, Heal PH Party-list, Rotary Club of Cebu West, Kaiser Medical Center, Asian Medical Students’ Association – Servus Nova Medicinae, SWU PHINMA College of Optometry, SWU PHINMA Community Development Office, and the SWU PHINMA College of Dentistry.

Through the collective efforts of partner organizations, healthcare professionals, faculty, and student volunteers, the initiative provided essential healthcare services to members of the community. The collaborative undertaking demonstrated the shared commitment of the participating institutions to promoting accessible healthcare, strengthening community engagement, and contributing to the overall well-being of underserved communities.
