𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊: CNU-VSMMC COM joins POGS–Cebu in final leg of women’s health mission series

As we continue to highlight our medical missions and community extension activities, we look back on the healthcare mission conducted in partnership with the Philippine Obstetrical & Gynecological Society (POGS) – Cebu Chapter last July 19, 2026, at Toledo City General Hospital.

Through the collective dedication of our healthcare professionals, volunteers, and community partners, a total of 86 Hematocrit Anemia Screenings, 86 Bone Density Screenings, 74 Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA) screenings and Clinical Breast Exams (CBE), 49 Ultrasound (UTZ) examinations, 3 Cryotherapy procedures, and 2 Polypectomies were successfully performed, bringing essential care and early detection closer to the community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our attending doctors: Dr. Jan Michael T. Lao, Dr. Erlinda Y. Posadas, Dr. Matthieu Kendrick Kyle C. Tiu, Dr. Ruby C. Facturan, and Dr. Christie Luz D. Rosal, for their expert guidance, leadership, and selfless service throughout the mission.

Special thanks as well to our 19 student volunteers whose active assistance, energy, and dedication ensured the smooth flow of operations and helped bring quality healthcare to those in need.

Together, we continue to champion preventive healthcare and women’s health—one mission, one patient, and one community at a time.

𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡, 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞. 🩺⛪

On July 4, 2026, the CNU-VSMMC College of Medicine joined the SimbaKalusugan Medical-Dental Mission at Santa Monica Parish in Pinamungajan, Cebu.

Organized by the Archdiocese of Cebu, PhilCHAN Cebu, and the CBCP – Episcopal Commission on Health Care, the mission reached 615 beneficiaries through medical consultations, medicine distribution, health education, and spiritual care. Joining the initiative were 12 CNU VSMMC COM students and 3 CNU Nursing students who contributed their time and service to the community.

Our sincere appreciation goes to Dr. Kathleen Joy C. Abanilla, Dr. Angela L. Cabergas, Dr. Jan Michael T. Lao, Dr. Erlinda Y. Posadas, Dr. Christie Luz D. Rosal, and Dr. Michelle Marie K. Villegas for lending their time, expertise, and guidance to the mission.
